Great service with incredibly friendly staff. Coffee was great and options for food and other drinks were excellent. Thoroughly recommend taking this as your weekend go to for a West Auckland brunch catch-up with friends.

A warm plate is just a minor detail that most of the café will forget about during the breakfast service. It’s so minute that most people don’t notice. Not so at the luscious food store. I was pleasantly surprised when my eggs Benedict arrived on a warm plate. The place was very busy for a Saturday morning, nevertheless service was fast and friendly. I wish I could say the same about the poached eggs though. The eggs are a little over cooked, the yolk has almost set all the way through to the middle. The fish cake was made nicely though, so overall I would still rate this little café a 4 out of 5. Will definitely return during the summer months, because their backyard area looks like it’s a great place to hangout under the sun.

Nice spot for a Sunday brunch, especially on a beaut of a day like today. The outdoor space is lovely though beware of the shade thrown by the building next door. We moved from a shady table to a sunny table only to be in full shade 30 mins later! Choose carefully. Pro tip: though they say they stop the more brunchy options at noon, if you ask nicely they might make them for you later! For example, we got the potato rosti after the serving time. Potato cakes with some tomato relish and an avocado relish was okay. My beef with it was that the avocado relish had avos that we’re either overripe or had been sitting out too long without lemon. It didn’t taste amazing and that was a big bummer. What did taste amazing though was the pancakes. Hot damn. I don’t know what the style was but they were thicker than I’m used to and more moist than usual. Perhaps baked? I don’t know, but gawd they were ridiculous. Super flavorful, buttery, berries, aweeeesome! It was very hard to turn them over and trade for half the potato thingy with the disappointing avo!!! We also got an amaaaazing gluten free salted caramel slice. Verrry caramely — very nice. I’m very picky about caramel and this was tops! Chocolatey think on top sandwiching the caramel with a more traditional cookie underneath. Intense enough to share if you can stop eating. And say yes to cream on the side(duh). Some solid veg options on the menu, eggs bene looked good. Nice cakes in the case including some good looking vegan and gluten free options. Great coffee… Nice people… Close to some nice walks so you can burn off all that sugar afterwards!!!

On a sunny day, Luscious has to be one of the best spots in Auckland for brunch. Sit outside on the grass(picnic mats provided) or at a table, and the kids can play with the huge blackboards or in the tidy sandpit while you wait for your meal to arrive. We had poached eggs on sourdough with free range(yes!) bacon, a breakfast quesadilla, and kids pancakes. All were cooked perfectly(especially the poached eggs). I’ve also had their huevos rancheros before which are fantastic.

I am definitely not in the know about much of the Te Atatu Peninsula however on a recent visit, two locals recommended we pop into this fab café because they had amazing Carrot Cake and also a sand pit for the toddlers to play in. Being a Sunday brunch time, I expected it to be quite busy however was not prepared for the whole of the community and more to be nestled into this hidden little getaway. From the front of the café, you would presume its on a spot that could fit say 40 guests, however once inside it spills out to a veranda and a whole lawn, along with large pine tree, rugs on the grass and sandpit for the kids! What a find, honestly as its all contained, this makes it so wonderful for parents with little kids. As it was a very busy time, I ordered a mocha and a toasted mushroom and egg bap, both delicious. Mocha was full strength and to my liking, and the food very tasty. The music was right on par with chilled out kiwi back yard vibes, and I left that Luscious Foodstore feeling totally relaxed and in Lazy Sunday phase! Perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch and even dinner. Keep an eye out for there Quiz nights, which I hear are a hit and very fun too. All in all, a great visit, parking is a little hard to find when its busy but there is a street right across the road you can park down if that’s not too much of a hassle. Otherwise right outside the café if you are lucky enough to get it. Will be back, as there menu is totally amazing looking!

Had a great brunch here on the weekend. Bummer that some of the breakfast dishes stop being served at 12. Still, the menu was good — lots of vegetarian options. I opted for the Cos & Anchovy salad with chicken(Caesar by any other name!) & my partner enjoyed his Eggs Benedict with a side of homemade rosti. Very cute little outdoor area which was packed out, lots of kids running around & chalk board walls for them to draw on. Yummy looking cabinet food as well. A good wine list(Yay they have Amisfield!) & a bloody great Bloody Mary!

The best kept secret in Te Atatu Peninsula(after the tiny beaches and seaside walking tracks) is probably The Luscious Foodstore. The food is suberb and the kitchen is headed by Jono Clarke who brings world renowned experience to this little corner of West Auckland. The last time we went, I had the scallops with herb and chilli dressing and my missus plumped for the ‘huevos rancheros’(Spanish style eggs back in a hot tomato sauce). The scallops were melt in the mouth and the eggs were a treat. We tried recreating these eggs at home the following weekend with limited success. Perhaps it’s the fresh ingreedients which this place prides itself on sourcing. Unfortunately, The Luscious Foodstore is a victim of its own success — it’s get very busy and booking is recommended. It can also be difficult to park on site and last time we had to park about ten minutes away and walk.
