The Taphouse is under new ownership and has had a complete makeover. They’ve got Boundary Road craft beers on tap and quite a good food menu filled with bar snacks that are little morsels of deep fried goodness. My partner swears by the pizza as well and its so reasonably priced. Their Loyalty card has actually good benefits which is quite refreshing as most of the time they are just schemes to get you to think you are getting a good deal. However, with all that said the real best part of the Taphouse is the owner. In the first few minutes there was a ‘Cheers’ reference and it’s most definitely the vibe of this place. A place where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came. The owner will come out from behind the bar, sit down at your table have a yarn and make sure that there’s nothing he can do to make your night better. I feel like this is how a local pub should be/used be but slowly seems to be a dying breed in a sea of hipster bars. So I would say if you’re in the neighborhood stop by for a pint, and at the very least if it’s not your cup of tea, dive into a thickburger at Carl’s Jr on the other side of the roundabout.
