I swear this place has gone from dinky trinkets to bonafide cool stuff ! Gone are the pens and lap top covers(tho they still have those) and IN are quirkily printed plates and mugs AND duvet covers . With cool and on trend prints, this would be my go to if I suddenly had a need to do a room make-over . They are run through the Cotton On brand, so some stuff can be a cheap like . A cool place to check out.

I don’t normally have a stationery fetish. I don’t like looking at pens, staplers, paper clips or stickers for any amount of time in a normal shop. Well, then they opened Typo. An awesome joint, they not only sell good quality, good priced stationery, but also cheap as chips notebooks which read ‘Happier than a bird with a french fry’ and other such larks. They sell mugs(Try Snoopy showing his muscles with the inscription ‘Check out dem puppies’), paintings(mostly lovely french styles), vintage items(a classy looking cord phone with a dial — yes, a dial! So quaint!), cardboard speakers, ornaments(owls are the latest fetish) and other such lovely things you couldn’t hope to find in another store. The Sylvia Park Typo is the best one to visit if you live out east, and is a great place to buy presents. The store members are kind, helpful and offer you a little basket if you have your hands full.

This is a pretty fun shop to explore! They have all sorts of crazy random stationery and decorative bits and pieces. I’ve bought some cool fairy lights from there, and also the pretty red and white twine for tying up parcels or other crafty things. Prices are not that expensive and there are great deals. I do wonder about the origin of these — they are pretty cheap after all… Another point I discovered is that they are owned by Cotton On, who are also nearby. I had gone shopping one day, bought something at Cotton On and then something at Typo. A few weeks later I was very confused looking at my credit card statement because there were two transactions for Cotton On, but one said Cotton On Typo and I thought it was a weird mistake and I had been overcharged… not so, just a confusing name on the eftpos…

Typo is a great little stationery shop and full of knick knacks you’ll suddenly wish you had in your home/room. There’s a little white alarm clock that I’d been dying to get for weeks although I’d realised soon after that I had a watch, a BlackBerry and an iPod, all with alarms, and I could use that money on something else. This is basically what Typo does to me. However, I have had some successful purchases in Typo and one of them was a great painting of bull’s head on a dream-catcher, but that sounds a lot worse than it really is. The artwork they sell is pretty generic but those odd quirky pieces are what sets the mark– they really filled the void in the market with those. I’m not really into inspiring quotes on walls in Courier New, so it was my love of Texas that made me buy that bull. I still love it to this day though, and it was only $ 17.00. They really do sell almost everything from tape dispensers to passport holders, and while i certainly don’t need those, it’s nice to know where I can find them. Typo is an awesome store with a lot to offer and I always make sure to pop in whenever I’m in Sylvia.

I quite like this shop. Trendy stationary, gifts, art and trinkets and at a cheap price. This is my kinda’ shop. I’m a stationary fiend. When I was a kid my favourite part of the school year was buying stationary at the beginning. With such an exciting array of duraseal, pens and pencils and books, it was just awesome. Typo satisfies this long lost childhood love within me. They are packed to the brim with diaries, trinkets, stationary and giftware. With an abundance of Eiffel towers and retro art adorning their products, this shop gives off an air of classic sophistication, yet at a very affordable price. My favourite things there are probably the custom stamps you can get and the block letters that you can stick on your desk or on a wall. Typo is the best place to find a gift for someone that you have no idea what to buy or what they like. There is something for everyone in here.
