I ordered: — Special: Carnitas Tacos — 2 tacos topped with raspberry & chipotle salsa, hibiscus & feta — Coronado Brewing Co. Orange Avenue Wit(wheat beer brewed with honey & spices) — Mexican vanilla & coffee caramel Was all very delicious and service was great. Tacos were homemade and pulled pork was divine. Staff in kitchen all appeared to be Mexican(spoke Spanish anyway) so that definitely helped! Atmosphere was also very authentic. Only downer was that the portions were a little bit small & beer was pricey. Otherwise would definitely recommend here.

Yum yum yum. Best burrito I’ve ever had, and a fantastic margarita to accompany it. Cute décor, friendly staff and we were seated straight away. I’ll be back for more!

The best reason to get yourself out to Miramar! Everything here is absolutely delicious, from the guacamole and salsa with handmade white and blue corn tortilla chips to the spicy(picante) margaritas. I have had the smoked fish burrito, the beef burrito, the goat enchiladas, the veggie memela, and the ceviche. And they are all delicious! I am from California so I have pretty high standards for Mexican food, and this right here? This is IT! Likely due to the fact that they have Mexican chefs, import Mexican ingredients, and hand make their tortillas from authentic, organic masa. With attention to quality and detail like this, you simply can’t go wrong. So do yourself a favor, and try La Boca Loca. Your stomach will thank you.

This review is based on two visit to La Boca Loca. Takeaway order — I had the ceviche with handmade corn chips and a Mexican hot chocolate. The ceviche also came with guacamole. As the order was takeaway(too late for lunch but too early for dinner) it was ready pretty quick. I ate it when I got home and it was everything that I wished it was going to be. The juices were tart but not overwhelming, the fish beautifully combined with the lime/lemon juice, onion, etc to produce a marinade that exploded on your taste buds. I wanted more even after finishing the bowl. The guacamole was deliciously creamy and fresh as well. And the corn chips were very more ish. Dinner at restaurant — I was showing some visitors around and we ended up at the Roxy cinema. As the Boca Loca is close by we decided to have dinner there. We had the Quesadillas(with extra chicken NZD$ 2) with refried bean dip/purée and fresh tomato and onion chopped up pieces as an entrée to share. Then we all ordered some thing different. I had the smoked fish enchilada, there was an order of beef tacos(2) and an order of beef burrito. For drinks we had water in the table and the guys got local beers while I tried the watermelon agua fresca(basically chilled watermelon juice for NZD6.50) which while nice seemed a bit overpriced. The food didn’t take overly long which was nice. I can’t speak for the guys but they seemed to enjoy their food. My fish enchilada was a bit spicier than anticipated although tasty. I would have liked a bit more salad/slaw on the plate as the quality was there just not the quantity. Three mouthfuls is all it took to finish. Two of us decided that dessert was in order as well and settled on the churros with orange and dark chocolate sauce. Too bad that’s not what came out. By that I mean the churro s were more crunchy sticks than anything resembling proper churro. And the sauce was too watery and not very chocolate or orange tasting. I was expecting a sauce made of chocolate, especially considering you only got 4 churros of the size of a large ladies finger and a little saucer of sauce. The churros were not good. I would return here, and while I will definitely have the ceviche again, I don’t think the dessert was worth it to me at least.

A friendly, casual atmosphere. Nice décor and mood. The food was yummy but the portions were a bit small. I had enchiladas with chicken which were covered with a creamy salsa. It was tasty, but a bit light for a main. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
