I don’t live in Glen Eden, but my cousins do, and whenever I baby sit and we get fish and chips, we always get it from here. It’s not even the closest takeaway shop to their house, it’s just far better than the other one. I always judge takeaway shops on their chips and potato fritters. If you can’t the chips right, you’ve failed, no matter how good any of your other food may be, in my honest opinion. Adriactic’s chips are great. They are perfectly yellow, perfectly crunchy on the outside and nice and potatoey on the inside. They give you the perfect amount of salt, and they are never that greasy. Their fritters are good too, not too thick and not too much batter. I hate when there’s too much potato and it isn’t cooked inside, or when there is too much batter it’s like a batter fritter, and you’re left thinking ‘where’s the potato!’. Not a long wait time, and it’s pretty cheap. Oh and their fish burgers are delicious as well.
