For $ 27 I got a lemonade, kaarage and waffles, and spicy pork ramen. I can confidently say that if I’d never had tatsu this would probably be my favorite ramen to date. The fried chixken and wafgles was pretty good. A small dipping bowl of tempura sauce would help with contrast. The egg was more undercooked than I like and the pork portion was miniscule. However, the broth and noodles were 5 star and presentation was exactly like the pictures online. Service was pretty perfectly timed too. Wish I could give 4.5 stars. I wish they served dried seaweed on the tables too.

Both ordered the tonkotsu shoyu ramen and were not disappointed. The place is a tiny little hole in the wall which was appealing to us plus I was having major cravings for ramen. The broth had fried onion(and a lot of it) which added great flavor and texture. The pork belly was very fatty but had great flavor. This ramen definitely hit the spot for me.

What a delight! Best ramen I have found in Wellington/lower north island. I had tonkotsu ramen and it was the bomb dot com. Portion size was perfect and the pork was amaze. I will definitely be back. Side order of karaage was tasty and the rhubarb soda & Tokyo lime tea were also a welcome addition to the meal!

Welcome addition to Newtown. Good, solid cooking in a pleasant calm room. I had The Big Bowl — pork belly. Nicely seasoned stock and well-balanced ingredients. I’ll have to return and try the other ramens. Everything looked good in menu.

I’ve come here about a handful of times now to try their various dishes. I was satisfied each time. I’ve had the spicy chicken ramen, mazemen, and beef curry, and I love all of them. I like that you can also add various things to your ramen if you wanted. Their kimchi is very nice, I prefer the daikon one out of the two. Their price is reasonable at around $ 12 dollars on average. The quality of their food is very good. They also have good service, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I like the communal table set up.

Managed to finally have the chicken skin with pickles and ponzu and it was really good. Bit salty and with my ramen I certainly could have used a friend to split it with, but very enjoyable. Also the last couple ramens I’ve had the additions weren’t so chilly(Or the broth was much hotter) cause I didn’t end up with luke warm broth. Maybe I just caught it on an off day. Either way, Ramen Shop has been a winner on repeat visits!(They are now also at the Rogue & Vagabond on Tuesdays from 6pm)
