I made the online reso few days before,(10% off) then they have the food ready for you. We ordered the sampler dinner(19Euro) and it was good amount of food. It seemed a lot, yet so tasty, so we finished all. I think the price is reasonable, the good is good yet nothing so special as more than I expected.

Sorry to be a party destroyer: Very good service, crowdy dining-room-style old fashioned place, and the food? Just tried the fish: salty, small, sha., side dishes not better and all is served in very unappealing dishes. I guess it is not for me.

Outstanding Indonesian food in the heart of Amsterdam. If I can manage to get myself back to this delightful city, I’ll be eating at Aneka Rasa again.

We came right when it opened. It had a really strong smell of jasmine; couldn’t see the plant though so maybe it was from a spray? Very strong smell of jasmine! Once the food came it wasn’t that bad. When the Rijsttafel came we thought it weren’t gonna fill us up but by the end we almost couldn’t finish all the food. Also, the coconut flakes that came with the meal was very VERY good. Great meal overall. Great service. Five stars!

Having lived in Jakarta as a child, this place was like tasting my childhood. So so good! And their tasting menu is a brilliant way to get a great feel of what Indonesian food can offer, without making a wrong choice. The spiced, fried coconut makes everything taste better. Definite bang for your buck too.

One of my plans in Amsterdam was to eat at an Indonesian restaurant and I’m happy I came across Aneka Rasa because the meal was fantastic. We were seated after a short wait for a table to be cleared. Immediately water was brought to the table along with shrimp crackers to dip in a peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was slightly different from the Thai version I am used to since it had a slight ginger flavor to it. The sauce was delicious and a great way to start off the meal. We then ordered a family style meal that came with a sampling of about 12 different items. When the food was brought to the table the waitress explained each dish in detail. The flavors varied on the dishes and they were heavily influenced by coconut milk and peanut sauce. A few dishes were spicy, but they were not overwhelming in heat. The meal included veal, chicken, egg, and a meat dish. Two of my favorite items were the chicken skewers with peanut sauce and the green beans in a coconut sauce. I found the staff to be attentive and friendly. Water was refilled quickly when asked and if you pick tap water you don’t have to pay for water like other restaurants seem to charge for in Amsterdam. Overall I thought the price was reasonable for the amount of food we received. The meal was delicious and I still crave a couple of the dishes today! I would definitely eat here again next time in Amsterdam.

Great food in Red Light district. Had the combination #3. A lot of food. Meat and shrimp are excellent. Good house wine. Very reasonable prices. After a day of touring and beer, we started with the shrimp crackers and peanut sauce dip set my stomach right for the feast.

After learning that Indonesian food is to the Dutch what Chinese is to Americans I decided I needed to try it. This was my first experience with Indonesian cuisine. It reminded me of Thai with Indian influences. Several of the familiar Thai ingredients are there including coconut and peanut sauce. Since it was my first time, I tried the rice table. The menu does say for two people, but they did allow me to order for only one(I was by myself so this may have influenced it, or they just felt bad for me by myself). The service was excellent, as good as I would expect in the States. My server was a sweet young woman who explained all of the dishes to me as she laid them out on heaters(side note: what an amazing idea! The food was kept warm the entire time). Both she and a man(I believe he was either a manager or owner) came and checked to make sure I was enjoying my meal. In case you are unaware and/or did not read it in the other reviews, a rice table is a small sample of several different types of dishes. It included steamed and fried rice, chicken satay, three meat dishes(if ordering the meat rice table, there is a vegetarian option), three veggie dishes, an egg dish and fried banana for dessert. Also rice chips and peanut sauce to start. A couple of the dishes are spicy, most of the ones I had were not(though this is my preference, I’m not sure if there is an option or variation if you prefer spice). My favorite items were the chicken satay and the chicken dish. The only items I was not keen on were the egg dish and the fried banana. The egg was a whole, boiled egg with a spicy sauce. I think it was mostly the sauce I did not like, and again, I’m not a big fan of spice. I think that the dessert had simply sat too long as I ate this last. The banana was turning black and the dough was getting soggy. I think if I had eaten it first it may have had a better result. There was quite a bit of food, but not an overwhelming amount. The price for the amount and quality I thought was reasonable. Overall a good first experience!

Fabulous restaurant! We ordered 2 of the vegetarian and two of the meat platters for 4 people. It was an ample amount of food and all of it was delicious. Of the 16 items served, each one was delicious :) I would definitely return here in the future. We visited the restaurant with two children and only one high hair was available but luckily we had one as well. We were able to get a 10% discount because we booked ahead online. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

My husband and I ate at Aneka rosa on our recent trip to amsterdam. We had never tried Indonesian food before and we had heard that Amsterdam was the best place to try it in Europe. We showed up around 9pm and the restaurant was still pretty full. We were given some shrimp crackers and peanut dipping sauce which was very good. We then decided to try one of the meal samplers which contains a number of different dishes presented in almost a tapas style. Every single one of the dishes was delicious. We would definitely come back!

The best meal that we had on our trip to Europe, until it was surpassed the next day by a mountain of seafood(more on that elsewhere). This was our first experience with Indonesian food, so we went for the Rijstaffel as we had no clue what to order. We loved the variety, from the chicken satay to the veggies in coconut milk to the meats cooked with cinnamon, to the delicious rice. My only minor complaint was that the peanut sauce was a bit sweet for my taste and was found in several dishes. The restaurant was also relatively roomy inside, compared to some other restaurants that we had visited, and easily accomodated our toddler and his stroller.

Came here solo. Had a great meal. A assorted vegetarian rice dish. Good with a couple of wheat beers, too. I’ll have to return with others so I can get a full rice table. Recommend.

I had the rijsttfael here. In my opinion, quite bland food in an environment that was entirely lacking charm or atmosphere. I’m not a huge spice-fiend at all, but I found that everything could have been kicked up a notch or five. I’m not too familiar with Indonesian food, but I’ve been to much better places that are far less expensive in Amsterdam and to me this is not worth a return visit.

Wow, best meal I’ve had in a while. A crazy amount of food and all of it was so good. This is the first time I’ve had Indonesian and won’t be my last. Service was spot on and the place is cute(nothing fancy) recommended!

As an Indonesian having been in Europe for 2 months, I was finding myself in Amsterdam, unsatisfied with Dutch food and craving the simple homestyle cooking I had taken for granted. Aneka Rasa(which translates loosely to «a variety of flavors») offered me just that authentic taste of home I missed. I opted for the Rijsttafel(rice table) as it seemed to offer the most variety and I was used to eating my rice with plenty of sides. While it was clearly 10x more expensive than it would’ve been back home, for where we were it was also the most economical choice when interested in trying a wider variety of food. I can’t remember how each individual dish tasted nor which dish needed improvement, but I remember walking away very happy and satisfied that day. so it must have been a pretty good meal!

Located near Centraal Station on Warmoesstraat I went here New Years Eve with a large party that took up two tables. It was definitely busy. Our server was friendly and welcoming. Overall the group was to have a sampler served family style consisting of several meats, dishes and spices. Since a lot of their food is cooked with coconut milk which I am allergic to I ordered a la carte, the Daging Balado. It’s beef cooked with red chilies. The meat was very tender, slightly sweet, medium spicy and really quite flavorful. It was a very good meal. It was served with a small salad and white rice. Despite the fact I had only the one dish I was more than satisfied and it was plenty of food. The service was also good despite it being a busy night. The menu is varied enough to suit most tastes. I’ll go back to try other dishes. They’re also dog friendly.

The owner of this place is related to that of Kartika, another great Indonesian restaurant in the West. It is conveniently located on Warmoestraat near Central station and the food has been adjusted for Western tastes(e.g. the food is not as spicy) though equally as delicious. This is a great place to try out rice tables for the first time. Food:4/5 We had the vegetarian and the Aneka rice table, and everything was delicious. The food was definitely less spicy than that from Kartika, so it isn’t as authentic but just as tasty. I think this was a great introduction to Indonesian rice tables. There was so much food that we were unable to finish it! They even offered to refill any of the dishes. Service: 4⁄5 The staff were friendly and attentive. We were dining with vegetarians and they were very accommodating. The staff explained each dish carefully and pointed out which dishes were vegetarian. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 The restaurant was filled with the smell of delicious food, and it was nicely decorated. The clientele was mostly tourists with some Dutch people. Value: 5⁄5 The rice tables were less than € 20/pp which is very reasonable, compared to some of the more expensive places in town.

I have been walking around central Amsterdam all day and I have been eating every couple of hours but for some reason, I was hungry again. I knew I had to eat Indonesian food at some point while in Amsterdam and I so happened to be walking around the Red Light District and towards Amsterdam Centraal when I got hungry. Luckily, I found this place and I ended up with a really great meal. Daging Rendang: Beef marinated in coriander sauce. Comes with rice and veggies. Not too spicy and a bit sweet. The beef cubes were tender. 4⁄5 Rames Komplit: Chicken, beef, veal, hard-boiled egg, veggies, chicken on a stick with peanut sauce, and rice(I picked nasi goring), shoestring sweet potato fries. Each meat tasted slightly different. This was like a meat sampler with side dishes and I enjoyed this very much and finished everything on my plate. 5⁄5 Their appetizers start at 2.50euros, entrees are anywhere from 10eu-22eu, or you can get a set menu for about 28eu/person with a minimum of 2 people. I can’t complain about anything. The service was excellent and so was the food. You can think this is quite pricey due to its location but who really cares? TIPS: They have free wifi! Get here before the lunch/dinner crowd as they tend to get busy.

Sehr authentisch Indonesisches Restaurant. Preislich etwas höher einzuordnen, aber immer noch angemessen. Aufmerksamer Service und eine Empfehlung für Freunde asiatischer Küche.
