I assume this bar is for local and older folks. And of course a tourist or two. That’s my impression and what the crowd felt like. My friend is like go in and see if the place is nice. I go in and get looks from a few older gentleman. It’s actually pretty crowded in here at around 6pm, maybe it’s happy hour. But it wasn’t easy to move toward the back. The barkeep was pretty fast in asking me what I wanted to drink. The place is decent, it’s the run of the mill local pub with a decent cool barkeep, not the most friendly, not rude and he will talk to you if you order a drink and ask him questions. After the initial impression of the place, it seems to be a calm and pretty average bar to view of the folks passing through the train station.

I assume this place is similar to a dive bar, though I don’t know the standard of divey-ness in the Netherlands. They serve a decent beer, La Chouffe. Everything else is Heineken or Heineken-adjacent. I only drank here and had a decent time on a Thursday evening, with very few people nearby(around 10pm). Not the place to go to meet fun people, for sure, but if you’re with a decent group on your own, you could run the show at Karpershoek.

There really is not much to recommend this place. We sat outside and looked at the view of the very busy road and drank hideous coffee with very old fake milk. I asked for tap water and received murky water that was somewhere between room temperature and boiling.
