A wonderful traditional dutch pub, I stopped here for a late lunch with a mate for his birthday. I wasn’t sure what I should get but I went with cheese burger with a side of fries. The burger patty was quite tasty and seemed handmade which was quite refreshing as it felt like a home made burger. The side of fries was quite adequate enough that I could share some with my friends and still struggle to finish them all.
One of the people in the group ordered the typical Uitsmijter and he seemed to enjoy it. They have a great range of beers if you are looking for something beyond Heineken. They also have a nice outdoor patio area if you are here on a nice day.
The service is a little slow but the place has a wonderful atmosphere, I would recommend dropping by on a weekend for lunch and a drink for sure. The prices for food and drink are quite reasonable for this part of the city so you can’t really go wrong :)

Great selection of beers and two very lovely patrons. We had the Texels skuumkopke complemented by their homemade meatballs. They were really tasty but actually way too hot to serve. We both burned our mouths really badly, thinking they must have been wazzed in the microwave. Still they were tasty. It was a nice atmosphere, funny texts on the wall and near great restaurants. Good for predinner drinks.

One of the Best «Uitsmijter» in Town!
Doctor Cluck’s Verdict: Melt-​down in your mouth!
The typical dutch «Uitsmijter» can be eaten everywhere; It consists of 3 eggs, sunny side up on bread; not the most haute cuisine dish in the world. You can choose to add ham, cheese or anything else. I always let them fry the cheese and ham together with the eggs.
The difference is the taste of the dish all together. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the egg yolk not to runny and not to firm and together with the melted cheese it was an oral nuclear meldown from heaven! So creamy and moist.
Egg lovers should definantly come here for their breakfast eggs!

Nice place. Bartender was very nice. Place is almost full before 1 pm. And you can get very good snack food. I recommend beers from ‘t Ij brewery.

I stopped here as I strolled up Utrechtsestraat in the morning. «Café Under the White Stork» has a small but delicious menu. I ordered an egg tosti, a Texel beer and a shot of Lagavulin. They do have a pool table downstairs but didn’t play. They have a nice selection of beers and spirits and tables and chairs outside to relax.

Pleasant bar on Utrechtsestraat that is alive all day with shoppers coming in for coffee. At night thinks get busier as patrons practice their drinking skills. Pool table in the basement.
