De Bekeerde Suster

The selection was great! Got to try the De Mannke Monnik, La Chouffe, hoppart, and Kwaremont! All were delicious and the service was excellent! Highly recommend!

De Bekeerde Suster saved me. We had been wandering/​touristing around Amsterdam for DAYS… and I was exhausted. All I wanted was a chair, a beer, and some cheese. And De Bekeerde Suster had all those things!
Great beer, a great cheese plate, great seating (including outdoor seating), and great service. I wouldn’t hesitate to drink beer at De Bekeerde Suster when I’m in Amsterdam again!

This joint appeals to the average American like myself, who wants to sit at a micro brew, drink a few beers and enjoy some good food. This place isn’t like your regular riff raff bar in the states that’s puts up some garbage pub food. The food is awesome and beer is fresh. I got the hamburger last two times here, amazing.

A gem near the Nieumarkt. The Spare ribs are massive and really good! Try the white Witte Antonia beer!!! And don’t forget the bitterballen!

This place is absolutely brilliant! Found it via Unilocal,went to have a look and to try their local beers — both the white and blonde were brilliant, and I got a first taste of their new Amsterdam ale. The owner was most engaging and have me a private tour of the brewery and the history of the area. I didn’t try the food, but it looked great, and I loved the décor (beer related of course) and laid back atmosphere. A must for any beer fan.

I went back here to try the De Bekeerde Suster burger since I’d already tried their cheeseburger. It’s basically a cheeseburger with bacon and honey mustard mayonnaise. With a glass of Manke Monnick I had all I needed for a good meal. The bun was crispier than I expected but it actually tasted great. The meat was also more cooked than I like. It’s great to have a full service bar that has liquor, a good selection of beers and an actually decent selection of food on their menu.

The main claim to fame of this establishment — located by the Niewmarkt — is that it’s Amsterdam’s only brewpub, so it’s worth a visit on those grounds alone.
It’s a fairly classic Ducth style bar, with a reasonably selection of both beers and nibbles, and decent ambience. Service can be a little on the slow side though.

I was a huge fan of this place. It has a welcoming front and was a very comfortable pub. The bartender was quite funny, good natured and talkative which is a bit rare in Amsterdam. He recommended a few beers to us and let us taste some. We also ordered dinner. I got the goulash and my friend got the pork satay/​skewers and both were delicious. Not an ounce of fat on either of the meat dishes and fantastic flavor. It was so good I had to eat the whole thing and forgo another beer. One of the best meals we have had here. I would love to see a little more beer selection here, not that it was bad, just would have liked to have more to have the option of. I would absolutely go here and would recommend to anyone looking for a good hearty meal.
