Really enjoy the sandwiches here. They are extremely filling even if you get a small one! Best option is to go there to get them and then maybe have a picnic in the park when it’s not raining because seating is very limited.

You can’t go wrong for the breakfast! Everything fresh and tasty, authentic. I keep coming to this place each time in Amsterdam. I can’t even name my favorite, just pick up whatever you feel to and it will be good!

Entered a wide open door at 7:50 on a Friday morning, looking to get some breakfast. Was asked by a guy opening jars to please wait for his colleague. Colleague shows up a few minutes later and tells me, not asks, to leave because they open at 8… So I left and will never come back!

Oh my gosh! Translated in English to «The Last Crumb» this place was hands down my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. It’s somewhat hard to find because it is tucked in on one of the side streets but it is so delicious. I was in Europe for two weeks and this was the only restaurant I ate at twice during my stay. Everything is homemade and they have the most amazing food, staff, and décor. They serve everything from a cous cous salad, to sandwiches and soup, to desserts and you cannot go wrong with any of it! The only downside was that they only accept cash and if you’re going there during a really tourist month plan on eating outside or standing up because there isn’t much seating. I highly recommend going here though if you’re ever in Amsterdam.

This is what people dream of when they think«French bakery». It was recommended to us by the owner of Gartine, another well reviewed Rokin restaurant. The food was amazing, and so was the espresso. The hostess was working hard, and seemed to love every moment of it. Definitely a breakfast must!

This is an excellent little café/bakery! The service was wonderful, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is nice and cosy. I would come back here and recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Small intimate pastry shop in bustling downtown. The ladies are kind and work their butts off in this tiny establishment. My wife had apple pie and I had pain au chocolat and both were superb!

This is a beautiful little café on one of the perfect winding side streets in central Amsterdam. The amazing array of pies, quiches, cakes and sandwiches in the window are sure to draw anyone with an eye for food inside. It can get very cramped, which is the only downside, but our pie was very good, and I had a hard time not ordering the quiche. The wild mushroom variety looked particularly good. As a note, this seems to be a pretty popular place for english speakers and tourists.

A small nice and cosy café offers fresh homemade food. Location is right the center of Amsterdam, with the view of cannel. The decoration style is quite natural with wooden table and chairs. They have a supper Open kitchen, where you can actually see what and how are they making the food. The scones with cream and jam are very yummy, highly recommended! Perfect place for brunch or meet-up with friends for a cup of drink combines with some sweets.

This place is super small and popular so seating is often scares! Why is this place great? A lot of people say that they have the best sandwiches in Amsterdam but you and I both know that Boer Geert has the best sandwiches and if you didn’t know that, get with the program! Are the sandwiches good here? Definitely! They are delicious! I love their smoked mackerel with lemongrass mayo sandwich. It’s also a bakery, so choose your own bread! What I particularly like about this place is that they have lots of stuff that’s not very common in Holland and you also wouldn’t be able to find them easily anywhere else, like polenta cake! They have sweet pies and cakes from chocolate mud pies to cheesecakes. They also have lots of savory pies and cakes such as quiches and polenta cakes! The interior is cute and tiny with little space to move.

THISPLACEIS F@#$INGUNSANITARY! ITSHOULDHAVETHEHEALTHDEPARTMENTSLAPITWITHMULTIPLECODES. Please, see for yourself. It’s an open kitchen and the girl with the long black hair(that ended up in my food) was handling food with her bare hands WHILEWEARING A BLOODYBANDAIDONHERINDEXFINGER. She also dropped a tomato on the floor, picked it up, wiped it on her apron and continued to cut it! She was ripping meat with her bare hands and putting it into the pie, while tossing her hair back during the preparation. She also took orders and handled money and the cash register whilst preparing this meat and tomato pie. My guy and I kept looking at each other like, «is this for real? Are people seeing this? Is anyone going to say something?» Then, there was another girl(a blonde girl who was washing dishes on the same counter as the meal preparation as bloody bandaid girl, and blondie had a bandaid on her index finger too!!! I mean, I understand accidents happen, but wear some latex gloves and use medical tape while your bodily fluids fill up a bandaid that customers see. I didn’t care that I spent 5 euro on a savory bread pudding and didn’t eat it. I didn’t even dispute the purchase because I had to get the eFF out of there before dry heaving on the counter.

Walking aimlessly around Amsterdam the current of the crowd eased me up to a plate glass window of happy happy and at least a couple of joys. I have undervalued french desserts in the past. Historically speaking there are those more wrong on more important subjects, however, I stand among their number ashamed and properly penitent. The carrot cake was truly amazing and the apple pie I carried for kilometers to find the proper scenery to share it with. I was fortunate to come late and was able towatch the ladies prepare the cakes, pies, scones and other wonders I only know are french in origin. If I’d known what they were I would’ve foregone the excellent sandwich and instead fed exclusively on the culinary wonders the ladies of De Laatste Kruimel produce fresh each evening and morning. Truly the home of the Sugar Fairy.

Let me start off by saying I’m pretty biased when it comes to cheesecake, as I truly believe Juniors Cheesecake in NYC is the best so u usually don’t get cheesecake at other places; however, I was pointed into the direction of the wonderful little bakery because they have amazing everything, to include cheesecake. When I finally did find this place, as it is small and you can easily walk right past it, I could tell right away this place was going to be trouble. The windows are filled to full capacity between strictly desserts in one window, and quiche type baked goods in the other. Though I originally arrived at the location for the«cheesecake challenge» but after looking at all they had to offer, I was perplexed by the plethora of choices. I ended up getting the cheesecake after all, do to the suggestion of the cashier after I told her about the predicament I was in. As said in the title, the cheesecake was quite delicious, I would have preferred it more chilled, but it is the best cheesecake I’ve had outside of NY and that’s saying something. In confusion, this is a great stop if you want dessert or take a load off after walking, but, beware the sitting area is small.

It’s a 4.5 for me this place. What a wonderful selection of quiche, muffins, sweet and savoury breads, and sandwiches. Nestled in a side-street near Spui, this place is close to the Law school, a short walk from Rembrandtplein and a neighbour to the wonderful café ‘t Gasthuys. Each time I’ve been here the food has been superb. tasty and reasonably inexpensive delights, making a great breakfast or a small lunch. The perfect place to stop if you’re in town on a week day. Unfortunately the De Laatste Kruimel can get REALLY busy sometimes, and regrettably the operation doesn’t really scale well. This may well be sorted now, but their policy of heating each order up often leads to very long queues for warm food. I kept wishing they would just heat a bunch of stuff up and say here’s the warm stuff, here’s the cold, you choose. It’s a decent size for a centruum location, but for a guaranteed sit down I wouldn’t advise going at the weekends. Check it out, you’ll probably love it.

Absolute favorite place in Amsterdam! Every time I come to this city, De Laastse Kruimel is #1 on my list. This local flavor is amazing! The rhubarb pie is another memorable eat, but I’m not exaggerating: they make the BEST scones &BEST sandwiches I have EVER had! Be sure to ask for one of their many jams & clotted cream for your scone. It gets quite busy, & it’s a little loud at times, but if you get the round table in the back corner, or find a spot outside on a sunny day, this place feels like a dream! They do all their baking in ONE oven! The staff is friendly & helpful. I know if I lived here, I’d rent a flat across the street & come here every day!

This is a very memorable and amazing bakery and café in my opinion. I am in Amsterdam for a week for an event in the university, and this bakery is right in my path. I was searching for lunch yesterday and found their quiches which are displayed on the windows to be too tempting not to try. I originally ordered a slice of the quiche Lorraine for take away, but one table opened up, so while they were warming it, I took a seat. I also saw that they had very interesting home made juices, so I opted for the kiwi mango. They were very tasty, and I would definitely plan to head back there again if I get the chance. Overall, I loved the fact that I found this place. It’s these little local shops that make my stay here in Amsterdam memorable, to the point that I wished they opened a branch like that in Berlin.

This tiny bakery is tucked away on Langebrugsteeg(a side street near Rokin) and it is no secret that this place serve some amazing baked goods. I came here with the lovely Alli K. on a weekday afternoon and the place is packed! TIP: In nice weather, there is an outdoor terrace in the back with extra seating, otherwise, wait 10 – 15 minutes and with some luck you can find a seat. Any party more than 2, good luck — take your snack with you on the go instead. I had a slice of raspberry cheesecake and mint tea, both were delicious and I will definitely be back to try some other things. The prices were reasonable and normal for bakeries in Amsterdam.

So many pastries, so little time. What a great find this place was! Walked past it on the way to the Mexican restaurant next door and was just drawn in by the food art in the window. So much so, that I went back to visit for breakfast the next morning. I call it food art because the food looks so delicious in the window you would swear you were looking at an art gallery. Pretty sure I found my new favorite hangout on the weekend. Many many more things to try out :)
