Good little neighborhood spot. I had the basil chicken and my bf had the pad thai — both were tasty. Mine was pretty spicy, which I like. I saw someone come pick up take out food. Noted. Service is friendly, but can slow down as the place becomes more full. Overall very solid and we will be back.

Very cozy although a bit noisy restaurant. The dishes we selected were really great, especially the noodles and fried rice. We also took one of the curries. It also tasted very good. Nothing too spicy though.

Small restaurant but very cozy. Decent Thai food, only two people serving the entire restaurant, but they were very friendly and were as attentive as they could be.

Ko Chang is just a solid Thai restaurant in the Jordaan neighborhood. We visited it the other day with some family in town because the one around the corner we really wanted to go to was full. The service was real friendly right away and our food/drinks came out very fast. We even got a table for four outside which seems rare because there were only a few available. All of the food we ordered tasted great and not a bit was left on the plates so I guess everyone liked them. The spicy papaya salad was a particular hit. So interesting to have something so fresh tasting and light yet more than average spicy. The beers were served with frozen mugs which was great and the tempranillo wine was very drinkable. Overall I would say it is worth the stop here if you want tasty Thai food served faster than normal with friendly service.

We stopped here because the owner of the flat we rented recommended it. I love Thai food and ordered the chicken pad see ew. I would say it was good but it wasn’t what I am used to here in the States. They use thin pad thai rice noodles instead of the wide, flat noodles. This restaurant also puts a lot of different vegetables in their see ew, whereas in most places I’ve only had it with Chinese broccoli. It was a nice meal, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

Maybe it was a bad day for the chef, but the food was very greasy and my partner and I got some kind of food poisoning. The host was really wonderful and so was the overall atmosphere in the restaurant, let’s hope my experience with the food was a mere incident.

I had a bucket list of things I wanted to do before I turned 25 that I never actually completed. On this list was to eat at a sit-down restaurant by myself and feel pretty comfortable with it. And I decided to go with Ko Chang! Ko Chang was recommended to me by my Airbnb host. I didn’t want a restaurant that was touristy, so Ko Chang was perfect. I went in on a Saturday night around 9 pm, and it was still pretty busy. There were some larger groups in the back, but I was alone. Phoneless and bookless, I sat alone near the front in dim lighting. The service was really great(and I have since noticed that service is great when you are dining alone), and the man who seemed like the owner of the restaurant was very warm. I came back here a second time the second night I stayed in Amsterdam. I love that this place is humble and that they put in an effort to present the food using traditional plates. I also peeked into the kitchen and saw that an Asian woman was actually cooking so it at least made me think the food was more authentic. When I am back in Amsterdam, I will be back!

I ate here yesterday with friends. Food was delicious, service was good and the atmosphere was nice. Place was full and we were happy that we reserved in advance! Portions are quite big. We had mixed starter plate(1 of each starter dish) and after that I had noodles with beef in oyster sauce. My friends had chicken curry and noodles with shrimps. All 3 dishes were tasty, the only min point was that since the shrimps were without sauce they were a bit dry. All in all, we had a great evening and we will come back here.

Great authentic thai food by my Hawaiian Thai standards. Nothing overly fancy here but thats the way it should be. Don’t be put off by the local front of the house staff :) the kitchen is where the magic happens. The ladies out front were very nice and didn’t let us over order which is easy to do in Amsterdam. When your spending Euro’s the numbers would make you think that most dishes are petit but once you convert them to $$ and get served da food you realize your getting your money’s worth and then some.

Best Thai food I have ever had. My favourite is the Thai Beef Basil, but they have many other good ones too. It is very small inside and decorations are kind of typical and cheesy, but the food is very good and the staff is very friendly. It is a small and family owned place and the food is very reasonably priced. Make sure to reserve in advance if you are going with more than 2 people, as it is always full.

Quite simply put: one of the best Thai restaurants of Amsterdam, if not the best. We have tried almost every other Thai place in Amsterdam and this one is still our favorite. Excellent price /quality ratio(main courses are about 13 euro), big portions. When you are here for the first time, try the mixed starters. You get one piece of every starter they have. The Sate is amazing! The sauce is to die for The best red curry with shrimps and beef with oyster sauce in town. Also try chicken with ginger, and the Phad Thai — even in my months in Thailand I didn’t have it this good. Very nice service… Extra rice? no problem, no extra charge. You want it sharp? Or not? Just say so. You want something special? If they can, they will make it for you. There are some upper class thai restaurants in Amsterdam who charge almost double the money but are not as good as this one. Always packed, even on a Tuesday, so make sure you reserve a table. When the weather is good they have about 5 or 6 tables outside, in the sun. It’s a small, cosy place not chique or posh but it sure makes you feel like home. Make sure you walk around the area a little but, all the narrow little side-streets are full of nice little shops, boutiques, a very good icecream parlor, etc! Kapun Krap!
