It’s a McDonald’s but it’s one of the politest ones I’ve ever been in and the service is quick

This McDonalds comes with its very own dedicated«happiness» expert to ensure your McDonalds experience is as smooth and burger-filled as possible. With a smile and a courteous hand wave, we were shown to the shortest line and given nothing but the most solid of assurances that our meal would be delicious. Also, and this may be a first, they have dual fry stations behind each end of the service counter, so employees don’t have to navigate any more perilous terrain than necessary.

It’s well-known that McDs’ around the world tend to have different regional offerings, and the one to try in Amsterdam is the McKroket Burger. The McKroket Burger is essentially a patty of breaded and deep-fried potato mash, topped with mayo-ish sauce between a hamburger bun. The first thing that struck us when we opened the box was the perfect shape of the burger. No false advertising here, the bun was fluffy and pillow-like, without a single crease to interrupt the smooth rounded hill of the top bun. The patty was perfectly centered, and sauce just peeked out between the patty and bun, just enough to make it known that it was there. We sat for a minute with the single burger between us, simply marveling at what may very well have been the most perfectly-shaped McDonald’s burger I’ve ever seen. The magic of the spellbinding moment subsided once we dug in. Unsurprisingly, despite it’s perfect figure, this was very much a characteristic McDonald’s bun. The croquette was pretty good for what it was, although we found the Fedo croquette we had earlier to be the more flavorful fast food option. At 1.50 euro, you can’t really go wrong. And if you’re not a local, It’s one of those things you won’t be able to try anywhere else!
