Very basic station, servicing the communities of Halfweg and Zwanenburg that lie between Haarlem and Amsterdam. The station is right across the road from the historic Sugar City, a former sugar factory that has been repurposed. The station isn’t very close to much else, and it has limited connection to other forms of public transportation.

I like the station, that isn’t really a station but a few platforms, because it’s only 2 stops to downtown Amsterdam. You can buy your tickets right there as well. In order to get to the platforms, you have to go up some stairs and then down again. If you’re not up to that, there is an elevator — and I wasn’t up to it after a night in the city!
