Had a nice time here!
We had a large party but service had no trouble keeping up. I was expecting the place to be dead or understaffed since it was the end of the year, but it was fairly busy! A good place to come in and warm your bones.
The only gripes I had with the place were that they allow in dogs (not a problem in and of itself, but not all dogs are good at keeping to themselves and there was quite a fuss) and also for some reason coffee = hot coffee flavored milk? Could just be a Dutch thing, but for travelers hoping to enjoy the end of their meal with a cup of black coffee, beware!

We had a great experience at the Boekanier. The service was correct, the food was fabulous, the timing was superb. My friend had the entrecôte with an amazing bearnaise sauce, I had the cobb salad. Both were very delicious. We had gin tonic cocktails with it, refreshing and with fresh mint. The waiter was a local guy and very attentive. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset on the terrace and paid — not too much, not too little. The music was a tad bit loud, it could have been a bit more relaxed on a Sunday early eve.

Wir waren heute als kleine Familie hier. Die Tapas für 2 und das Kindermenü waren reichlich und gut. Preis/​Leistung stimmten. Haben schon öfters für mehr Geld an vergleichbar schönen Orten schlechter gegessen.
Innen ist es trotz der Größe gemütlich und warm.
Da es für uns stimmig war 5 Sterne.

Seit 25 Jahren die beste Adresse am Platze, jedoch stetig steigendes Preisniveau, welches durch den Blick auf den schönsten Strand der Niederlande noch gerechtfertigt ist. Die Qualität der Speisen ist für die Gegend als überdurchschnittlich einzustufen. Self-​Service die Mahlzeiten werden aber von ehrlich freundlichem Personal an den Tisch gebracht.
