A bad day for sushi at this place. The rice on the sushi was like porridge and when I told them, they refused to make a new batch or offer me anything for my bad experience. I ended up returning my plate and refusing to pay for this sorry excuse for a sushi.

The reason why I gave Ichiban Nygårdsgaten a four rate star and not a five, is the price. This is NOT the most expensive sushi restaurant in Bergen, but it’s not the cheapest either. I have both ordered take away and eaten at the restaurant many times, and the sushi itself is magnificent(this comes from a suhsi lover — believe me). The customer service at this particular restaurant is very good. The staff are allways smiling and are handeling your order pretty fast. When you are asked to whait 15 minutes for a take away, you usually have to whait between 8 — 10 minutes. The menu is also very appealing. They have a wide choise of Maki, a regular choise of Nigiri and Combo menues. And a good choise of tempura and sashimi. If you are going to dine at the restaurant, I would reccomand to go to the Ichiban in Nygårdsgaten. The location is bigger and more cozier than the location in Håkonsgaten. All in all, Ichiban Nygårdsgaten is my favourit sushi restaurant in Bergen, and I would reccomand you to try one of their special maki.

Still my favorite sushi spot in Bergen. Great lunch and«bento» box/dinner combo specials. Very fresh sushi(always love the salmon, scallops, tuna). Particularly delicious gyoza. And Very friendly service.
