Decided to go to Bergen with my mum for May bank holiday and found this little restaurant online. Lovely little hotel, very clean with extremely friendly staff. Brekkie was included — typical scandinavian brekkie: salmon, cured meats, muesli, smoothies. Very tasty and great start to the day! The room we had was tiny, literallt space for a double bed, tiny wardrobe and tiny table — but for three days of exploring the city what more do you want? Bathroom on the other hand was suprisingly big! Absolutely beautiful, with wide mirrors and black tiles, great shower! Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for nice for decently priced hotel in Bergen

Update: I had posted a few days ago that I give this hotel a 4.5 stars(but had to list it with 4). But I’ve change it to 5 stars because, even though the breakfast isn’t stellar(it’s actually not that bad; it doesn’t help that I don’t eat meat or eggs), the extraordinary kindness of the staff and the softness of the sheets and towels more than makes up for this. I definitely recommend this place!

As everyone notes, there’s a terrific breakfast(espresso machine with unlimited shots!), with clean accommodations, if a little on the small side generally. Staff friendly and helpful. Has more of a homey, informal feel than a commercial hotel, and prices are reasonable. Good location, there aren’t really any bad locations in Bergen. Downsides: there’s free Wi-Fi, but it’s terrible. In the evening my speed test showed 387KB/S, and their login system logs you out after a short period of time or when you switch off your device no matter what you try. If you’re vegetarian, go look up Pygmalion and eat there while you’re in town.

This was my home away from home during a few nights in Bergen during the summer of 2012. I was traveling with two friends and part of the reason we chose this hotel was the availability of a triple room at a reasonable price. Bergen is on the smaller size and easy to walk around. This hotel is located in a quieter area, which seemed more residential. It was a few minutes walk to the harbor, though on return it is an uphill walk. Our room was on the top floor and it had a skylight which provided a ton of natural light. The staff offered to carry our bags up the stairs as there was no elevator/lift. The skylight had a shade so we could block out the light when we were sleeping at night. Compared to the size of the room, the bathroom was massive. I think we could have done with a smaller bathroom and larger sleeping area. The room worked out just fine, but the amount of space dedicated to the bathroom was generous. While I normally don’t focus on a hotel’s breakfast, it’s really impossible not to do so. One of the most unbelievable breakfast displays I have ever encountered. We were sincerely impressed by the choices available each morning. The breakfast room was located on the main floor, just to the right of the reception area. There was a counter with assorted cured meats, fish, pâtés, cheeses, cereals/granola, breads, and jellies, mostly with a Norwegian theme. All of the breakfast items were labeled. Everything was locally sourced. There were also assorted juices and teas available in addition to coffee. The staff did a wonderful job keeping the area well-stocked and clean. Everyone in my group loved the breakfast and thought it was one of the highlights of the hotel. If you go on their website, you can read about the hotel’s mission as a work training program for those transitioning back into the workforce. It’s wonderful to be able to support such efforts and receive kind service in return. If I return to Bergen, I would stay here again in a minute. I loved being off the beaten path in the city, as it forces you to get out and explore.
