This is such a charming bar– my favorite in the city! The exterior makes it look like a bookshop with inviting outdoor tables. When you come in, it’s a mixture of students and locals enjoying the atmosphere. They have a great selection of bottled beers with a few on tap, and the do jam nights here some nights. of course it is expensive, but for Norway prices, it is ok. if you want a taste of the local flair, I would say this is a must see!

Lovely and cozy café which happens to be my go-to place whenever I’m in Stavanger. Love the Opera caffe that occurs from time to time!

My favorite café in Stavanger. Great beer-coffee-boardgame selection, with the occasional live music. Cozy place, great way to spend a weekday night.

A cute little place. Very funky, cosy, warm and inviting. The inside is fairly small, but they have additional seating on a patio in the back and along the street out front. A nice selection of beers; the draft selections during my visit included beers from Norway, the US and the Netherlands. This is a café so they also have assorted teas and coffees and sweets(the Guinness chocolate cake is very tasty). Our server was very friendly. This place is in a very convenient location right in the central part of town. Definitely worth a visit.

This was one of my favorite finds in Stavanger. A funky little coffee shop that clearly revels in its funkiness, has good coffee, good beers, an assortment of pastries, friendly staff, and no matter where you sit you’re immersed in a stack of books. Real, glorious, paper-and-binding, microchip-less, real books. And they also have a poster of Townes Van Zandt over in the corner, which alone made stopping in for a while and hanging out a happy kismet occurrence for me.

Great spot off the side blocks of all the main touristy stuff in Stavanger. Great beer selection, including a nice variety of Scandinavian beers(which I’ve had trouble finding during my time in Norway). And all the locals at the bar keeps ordering coffee, which leads me to believe it’s pretty good too. Definitely hit this place up for a drink or two, or some coffee if you’re in Stavanger.

This was such a nice find during one of our cruise stops in the British Isles. Located amongst a bunch of colorfully painted buildings, adorned with rainbow flags, and lots of outdoor seating along a cobblestone street, this café and bar was the perfect spot to sit and relax on a drizzly Norwegian day. They provide blankets outside for the little bit of chill as well as heat lamps(which appears fairly typical). The coffee was delicious and the girl who worked the counter was super friendly. Prices are slightly higher(compared to the US $) but I believe they are pretty comparable to anywhere in the area. I believe we paid about $ 4.00(approx) for an Americano. It was a very good Americano, though. And for me and my family, totally worth it for the ambiance alone.
