Back again and had the veal goulash. It was so tender and tasty! I have eaten here on 3 occasions over the past 4 years and each time I am so impressed. The service is always superb, the food quality and presentation excellent, and the ambience refined but relaxing

Christmas/​Weihnachten: the best place in the world to have Christmas may be Austria and the Goldener Ochs is the place to stay. We’ve done it twice and hope to do it again. The food is world class starting with a wonderful breakfast in the exceptional dining area. Christmas Eve is carp like you’ve never imagined it to be and Christmas dinner — duck, of course. The hotel leaves cookies around the ample lounges and there are Christmas trees everywhere. There is a ski hill in town that is great for black diamond and green circle skiers, but Bad Ischl is also a great location for trips to Hallstatt or the Austrian Lakes.
