A fun Irish experience in Salzburg. A nice quiet place to get a drink during the day, & then it explodes with people & live music in the evening. The bar staff were very friendly & helpful and guests were open to visiting. We went twice!

Pub crawl stop number two. Was very busy and noisy, not always bad but on this night was maybe a little too much. Big student crowd too. Music was pretty cool, indie and alternative but just a little too much volume for a decent conversation. Its a pub after all not a club but anyway… Minus points for serving a Guinness in a non-Guinness glass and no coasters. hehehe But good, quick service, large locale and friendly vibe. If you’re looking for a traditional pub vibe then this is perhaps not the right place but if you’re looking for something bit livelier and clubish then this your spot.

Wanted a cheap(yet good) place to eat and have a Guinness our first night in Slazburg. Great location, right on a street with a bunch of shops and places to eat in center city. We got a pizza each(although if you just want a snack one pizza would be enough to split) and a Guinness. The service was very friendly and the bartender was nice(and spoke English very well). Live music every night. Will definitely return for a drink before our trip is over.

This is kinda a cheater review — I didn’t actually hang here; I walked through on my way to a restaurant… based on directions from a bartender at Murphy’s Law(another Irish pub in town). Yeah, that’s right. The directions were perfect, and the pass-through gave me the opportunity to see inside the belly of the beast. It looks like somewhere a dragon would drink. It’s dark and stony and labyrinthine(and leads to the street beyond). I’d say it’s the most architecturally interesting of the three(!) Irish bars we visited in Salzburg(and I think it’s owned by the same folks as O’Malley’s).

Mein Lieblingspub.

Randomly stumbled into this place because it was an Irish pub in Austria. I cannot convey with words how fun this place was. The drinking age in Austria is 16 and it is legal to smoke inside most establishments across Europe. You will be assaulted by both. We found ourselves among some hapless, inebriated Austrian youth who clued us into their knowledge of the US: Tupac, Westside, and Bön Jovi. They proceed to sing«Have a Nice Day» whist fist pumping. We also randomly ran into some people from Santa Cruz, Ca. Small world. In the end; you will find great drinks and new friends in one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe. :D

The shamrock is right next to OMalleys(best irish bar in Austria) but its just OK. Sometimes you can catch a good band but it seems to be filled with wasted… I mean truly wasted young guys. we always just stop in on the way to OMalleys or if a friend is over there.
