Eine der kleinen Weinbars im ersten Bezirk mit einer sehr großen Auswahl an Weinen, die eher als höherpreisig einzustufen sind. Besonders am Abend vermittelt dieser Ort sehr viel gemütliche Atmosphäre. Gut geeignet für Leute, die nach einem Open Air– oder Strandbadbesuch noch auf der Suche nach einem guten Achterl für danach sind.

I have been to this bar several times. I can tell you that I am a very easy to please person as is my girlfriend. A simple hello, some nice talk welcoming us (especially if we’re one of 4 people in the entire bar! Which we were.) and we’re yours and most likely so is all of the money in our pocket. We are SO VERY EASY to please.
The bar is small, very very cozy, a nice antique motorcycle in view from the door.
For AMBIANCE they get a 10 star rating!!! Low lit candles, GREAT music, very well done. There are mainly two people that will tend the bar here. The (owner) father and the owners Daughter. The very first night we went here it was the daughter. She was chatty (again 4 people besides us were there), she was very very friendly, pleasant, and suggested wines and told us stories about the décor. We both vowed that this would be our favorite place in Vienna (we live here). The daughter showed us around, told us the history of the bar and then admitted that business was not good because of her father and «she wanted out of this family business.»
A few visits later we finally met «Dad» the owner. The bar had 2 people and could sit maybe 15 – 18 people up front, and the same in the dark dungeon like room in the back with no windows etc. We walked in ready to enjoy the evening of wine drinking and at each empty table we saw «RESERVED» signs except one. We found one that just had a credit card sign on it, and sat down. 2 minutes go by, 5 minutes, no greeting, no hello, no nod of approval, nothing. And the owner was 4 meters away looking at us! We felt like strangers immediately. Mind you there are only two other people in the bar and he made eye contact with us several times. We smiled.
Finally he comes to the table and does NOT greet us and say «welcome» or anything remotely nice but rather points to the tiny plastic placard that simply has a visa symbol on it and says «RESERVED!» So we inquire for any free tables with smiles on our faces and he then brings my girlfriend back to the dark room with no windows and sits her at a table in a dark corner, and by now I see a table with no reserved signs in the front (but he did not offer this table to us) and I look in the back room and he’s shuffling my girlfriend from one table to the next in an EMPTY cave of a room with NOTHING on the tables. He’s asking her questions and making her switch tables (for what reason I can’t even begin to understand) I can just tell he’s not being nice. I can see the look of anger building on my girlfriends face so I motion to her to leave and then it was all downhill after that. They had some words as he was trying to make her move to a table 1 meter away from the table he moved her to, and I motioned to her for us to leave, and we walked out.
Then, the man comes out of the bar, and yells at us in German and then English saying we have «no class» amongst other things and to be honest, I think I yelled some nasty stuff back at him after he yelled at my girlfriend.
We still like this place but will only go there if the daughter is working. That’s how cool it is when the owner is not there. The owner is a rude, arrogant man that does not know how to make the simple motion of being friendly to people. We had a lot of money in our pockets and probably would have left 50 Euro in the bar easy as we always did, but for some reason he didn’t understand basic concepts of business and making money. I rarely sit down for a night of wine drinking without spending 50 – 80 euro! But this time a Noodle maker down the street got a huge tip and I went home and watched a movie.
The Viennese culture of reserving and keeping tables empty half the night is still a brain teaser, but this guy takes the cake.

Kleines nettes Lokal mit dem Flair einer alten italienischen Weinbar. Der Chef selbst hinter der Bar — klasse und kompetente Beratung zur ohnedies tollen Weinkarte!
Für jeden Weintrinker ist dieses Lokal sicherlich einen Besuch wert.
Passend zum Wein gibt es verschiedene sehr gute Antipasti.
Das «Panigl» ist für mich ein «must» wenn es in der City mal wieder später wird.

Mein erster Besuch hier war ganz ok. Interessante Weinauswahl, mit einigen hochwertigen Flaschen aus vor allem Österreich und Italien.
Enttäuschend war die für mein Gefühl sehr mechanisch arbeitende unpersönliche und irgendwie an Gästen desinteressierte weibliche Bedienung, rauchend, selbst Wein trinkend, und bei Fragen nach genaueren Informationen nach dem Wein genervt wirkende Persönlichkeit — der Chef war nicht anwesend.
Die Musik war von italienischer Art, aber für eine Weinbar mit Operngesängen und lautem Applaus auf der CD recht anstrengend und unpassend.
Vielleicht folgt irgendwann ein zweiter Besuch…

Ein kleines, nettes Lokal für alle, die gerne Wein trinken. Die Auswahl an Weinen, die glasweise ausgeschenkt werden, ist riesig.
Ich hatte bei meinem ersten Wein gestern allerdings das Gefühl, dass er schon leicht oxidativ war — das ist die Kehrseite von einem großen Angebot, denn die Flaschen sind dann natürlich entsprechend länger offen. Da müsste das Personal halt immer wieder durchkosten — deshalb nur 4 statt 5 Sterne. Alle anderen Weine waren aber durchwegs OK.
Ansonsten ist das Lokal sehr heimelig und nett auf italienisch getrimmt. Durch die gedimmte Beleuchtung merkt man dann auch nicht so krass, dass die Wand nur künstlich auf Stein gemacht ist. Im Hintergrund spielt italienische Musik im loop. Als kleine Speisen gibt’s Käse, Oliven, Parmaschinken etc.

Die wohl netteste Weinbar Wiens. Super Ambiente, gute Weine. Ein Wohnzimmer! Besonders empfehlenswert der Grüné Veltliner DAC

Gute Wein Auswahl super Stimmung

Wenn man in einem Lokal in der Inneren Stadt eine Frau kennen lernt und gewisse Absichten hat, dann schlägt man ihr noch vor, auf einen Sprung ins Panigl in der Schönlaterngasse zu gehen. Hier gibt es wirklich herrlichen Rotwein. Zweigelt Heinrich 2003 aus Gols im Burgenland oder Rubin Carnuntum 2003 aus Carnuntum, Weißweine wie Chardonnay, ebenfalls aus Carnuntum, Welschriesling aus der Südsteiermark u.v.a.m., dazu wird Prosciutto miT Parmesan oder Oliven angeboten, oder die Piatto della Casa: Gemischter Teller mit Spezialitäten des Hauses — Schinken, Salami, verschiedene Käsesorten, marinierte Melanzani und Zucchini, Cippole, Kapern und Oliven.
Die Preise sind nicht niedrig, die Leute nicht mehr nüchtern. Aber eines mag er nicht, der Toni (das ist der Chef): Wenn jemand hinein kommt, schaut, ob Frauen da sind, und wenn das nicht so ist, gleich wieder geht. Da wird er böse.
