The machines look quite modern compared to other laundromats but considering that most people probably need a small machine for washing and drying, I think it’s ridiculous that they only have TWO of these here. Which I only realized once I got there. It’s also pretty expensive. A small machine for washing and drying at 10 € is about as much as I’d be willing to pay. But since they were occupied, a lady who didn’t speak German very well but still insisted on explaining me the process instead of letting me just read the instructions suggested I use washer and dryer separately. Which at 6 € for drying and 4 € for 30 minutes of drying probably would’ve cost me 14 €. Maybe even more, since I dry all of my clothes on low heat. By the way — I don’t want to talk too badly about that lady but based on her VERY casual clothes, I kept wondering whether she is even employed by the company or just some random person who has decided to take on the task of explaining everybody walking in the situation. I’ve certainly come across enough very odd people in Vienna that that’s a possibility…

My clothes came out clean and dry in very little time. While I was there late afternoon on a weekday, the laundry was not too busy although the dryers seem to get more use than the washers. This is usually the case in Europe. I had dirty clothes and as luck would have it, GreenClean was across the street from my hotel. First order of business was to bag up my dirty laundry and head to GreenClean. I wish we had laundromats like GreenClean in the USA. They place is super clean and the washers and dryers easy to operate. There are three sizes of machines based on the weight of your load. Keep in mind 2.2 pounds is equal to 1 Kilogram. I had a lot of difficulty figuring out how to use the laundromat at first and because of the expense I was a bit reluctant. A very nice woman explained and demonstrated how to pay, select your machine and start the washer and dryer. There’s no need to add detergent which was the most confusing aspect to me. I’m very appreciative of her assistance. Once I had the system down it was super simple. I was also happy I didn’t have to buy a big thing of detergent just to wash one load of clothes. I then went for a walk and explored the neighborhood some. There are two cool ironing machines and had I been braver(and had some more Euros) I might have tried the one where you clothes roll through and get pressed. I think my total cost was about 10 Euros which is about the same as I paid in Thailand to have my clothes laundered. Of course in Thailand they were ironed and folded as well. So while it wasn’t cheap it was not way out expensive either. I want to go back to Vienna and when I do, I’m visiting GreenClean again!

We did laundry at this location while on holiday in Vienna(April 2013). Laundromats seem to be few and far between in Vienna so we were happy to find this service. The instructions on how to use the machines were reasonably clear and it was very clean. The snack machine ate my euro but otherwise it served our purposes well.
