One of the best lodging experiences I have ever had during my travels! Recently, the fiancé and I stayed here(along with another friend) for 5 non-consecutive nights during our trip through central Europe(we used Vienna as our base). The owner, Karl, was extremely kind and welcoming; the rooms were spotless; and the outdoor courtyard terrace provided a wonderfully authentic European experience that one cannot often find even in the best of 5-star hotels. The pension consists of two apartments that can be connected to provide a suite. This was great for us since we were travelling with a friend who occupied the other apartment. Both have free WiFi, full en-suite bathrooms, mini kitchenettes(with 2 burner stovetop, place settings/utensils, a small fridge and a sink), a queen bed, a sofa, and a dining table for four. A Senseo coffee machine is provided with free coffee and there was also a nice selection of complimentary teas as well. The drinks in the mini-bar are on an honour system and are extremely well priced(about what you would pay in the grocery store… not crazy hotel prices!). Breakfast is an additional € 5 per person if desired and can be taken on the terrace or in your room. At € 70 per night for a double room with 2 people the price was more than fair for the level of personal attention we received. The private airport pickup for € 19(up to 4 people… per ride, not per person) was well worth it especially it you are travelling with other people. This was a busy trip for us and we stayed for 3 nights, left for 1 night, stayed another night, left for a night, and then stayed one final night before returning home. Karl was kind enough to hold our luggage for us during our time away(at no charge) so we would not have to carry big suitcases to our other destinations. This was a lifesaver and is something you don’t get at most hotels. The U-bahn station(subway) is a short 5-min walk down about 4 blocks and there is a mall nearby that is open fairly late if you want to get some food(with mostly locals) after sightseeing. If I am ever in Vienna again, I would make this my default place to stay.
