Würstelstand 13A Station Alserstraße

This is one of my favorite Würstelstands in Vienna. One reason is that it is so convenient as I often use the 13A bus and this is at the very end/​beginning of the line in Alsergrund where I often connect to it. Another reason I like it is that the guy who is often working there (maybe he’s the owner actually) is so friendly. And of course the biggest reason is that the quality of wursts and food offerings is very high. They also have a good selection. When any city has so many of one type of eatery, it’s important to look for small differences in them to differentiate. Here for example they have Kümmelbraten which you almost never see at other stands. I had to eat a slice of Kümmelbraten with bread on my way home yesterday!

Dieser Würstelstand hat eine bewegte Geschichte hinter sich, die ihn vor ein paar Jahren auch in einige Medien brachte: skurillerweise wurde nämlich ein Kebab/​Würstel/​Pizzastand direkt vor den schon seit Jahren existierenden Würststand gepflanzt (und wenn ich direkt davor sage, dann meine ich einen Meter daneben), so dass man den alten Stand nicht einmal mehr sieht, wenn man vom Alten AKH kommt. Das allein sorgt natürlich bei schon für Solidaritätsgefühle und ich kehre hier immer gerne auf eine Wurst ein, auch weil sowohl die Qualität als auch die Freundlichkeit der (oft weiblichen) Bedienung immer stimmt und die Preise sehr moderat sind.
