Preis betrug ca. 25 Sloty, was rund 8 Euro entspricht.

Stylish décor and ambient mood. The entrance boasts a beef filled fridge to give its patrons a hint of what’s to come. We were promptly greeted and seated by an amiable waitress who left us to ponder over the interesting menu for what seemed like an age. I plumped for the chicken with baby potatoes with a sage and cheese sauce. My dining companion opted for the burger and home fries. A reasonable wait time for the food to arrive and I was not disappointed. The chicken was very moist and delicious. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and the sage sauce married perfectly. My companion’s dining experience was a different story, which she will illuminate you on later. Burger apocalypse is all I’m going to say. The wait staff were not very attentive but were very polite. I had to scour the building to settle the bill. All in all I would recommend this place for the quality of my dish and the prompt order to table service.

Sadly I think I just ordered the wrong thing. It’s a steakhouse and the décor and atmosphere is great. But the burger… Just no. I have already reviewed other burger joints in town and I am afraid my bread bitching is becoming a theme. Why can’t local burger places get this bit right? On the menu there is a very brief description of a classic burger. What was served is a nice quality meat patty sandwiched in Polish brown bread. Toasted on the top bit, so it is crunchy to bite into. Lower layer not toasted. Meat medium rare and blood leaked everywhere. Almost inedible as a sandwich. Soaking bottom bread, too big to bite, weird mushrooms on the burger and avocado spread? Just strange, messy, and I deconstructed it to eat the meat and tossed the rest. My companion fared better with chicken and potatoes. I think next time I will try the proper meat n potatoes offerings. This place deserves another chance but the burger is not right.

It was good but not that good. But considering how hard it I to find a good steak in Europe it is better than most. Since I live in Dublin where everything is super expensive, the fact that we were able to get a meal for two and a couple of drinks for the price of one low quality mean in Dublin, Ireland was fantastic. I would say order your steak a bit on the rare side if you are a regular steak eater. I ordered mine medium and what came was probably more on the well side. It was funny, at one point walked past as I was cutting into it and said, «the pink is closer to the middle.»

Poland is white meat country. Beef makes up only around 5% of the country’s meat consumption. Chefs here tend to cook beef like they would pork or chicken – that is, thoroughly. Typically, when I ask for a medium-rare steak, it would show up medium well. When I said medium, it would come well-done. Ed Red is one of the few places in town where they prepare steaks properly. The quality of the meat is pretty good. I won’t call it premium grade, but hell, you’re not going to get a $ 50 steak for 60zł. It’s going to taste like a $ 20 steak. If you’re from Chicago, you probably won’t be impressed. Service at Ed Red is decent by Krakow standard. Wait time is a bit long though. It took 40 minutes for our steaks to arrive. Ordering an appetizer is recommended if you show up hungry. Getting a reservation is recommended too as it’s a very popular establishment.

Wer Fleisch mag sollte definitv hier vorbeischauen.

This place has quite a nice interior with wood and leather seats everywhere. The first thing you see as you walk through the door is the meat fridge. We sat right next to the window, which was a little cramped but gave us plenty of fresh air and nice view out onto the busy street. The food was pretty good, but I didn’t go mad for it. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood for steak. For the main course I had rib-eye steak, with mushroom sauce. For sides I chose grilled vegetables and new potatoes. The dessert didn’t wow me either. I had white chocolate tart accompanied with strawberries in a warmed syrup. My dinner companion had steak bavette and a rather tasty looking dessert. Presentation of everything here is good. Special cutlery for steaks. Embroidered napkins, etc. Service was very good and prices a little bit lower than other restaurants specialising in steaks.

A very nice steakhouse serving 20 days ‘dry aged cuts’. Meat was great and to the point. Amazing cocktails, nice desert. Great evening.
