Taberna Belga makes one of the best ‘Francesinhas’!
The ingredient quality is outstanding. The dish doesn’t include fresh sausages like I think is the traditional recipe though. But it has a lot of great quality cheese, which I personally love! The sauce is one of the best I’ve ever tasted, a little more acid than the most ones and far more consistent, though less greasy and mid-​spicy.
There is a vast selection of beer that combine perfectly with the dish!
However, I think the place is a bit overrated (since everyone in town talks about it) and that reflects in the price, which I found expensive for this dish! The chips are paid separately, which raises the price unnecessarily. Also, the waiter didn’t bring me the menu, asked only if I wanted the famous «Francesinha», without specifying that the chips were sold separately, which I found very rude and completely unnecessary for a place like this. I didn’t like that.
All in all, if you are in Braga and you love Francesinhas you definitely must try Taberna Belga, but you can get better ones in Braga for some few less euros, so I wouldn’t recommend this for recurrent visits.

One of the best francesinhas in Braga, if not the very best. It also has a good beer selection. A very affordable meal.
Prepare for long waiting times during peak hours. And it is desperately hard to find a parking spot nearby. The restaurant is too small for all the demand, so the space is very crowded and noisy and it can get too hot sometimes. Tables are very tightly packed.
A must go in Braga.

The francesinha sauce is moderatelly spicy, buttery with a pint of mustard. Different from the traditional sauce. But with strong and very pallatable flavours.
French fries dipped in the sauce are a must!

Hands down the best francesinha in Braga, and one of the best I’ve ever had. The sauce is nice and thick, which some people don’t enjoy, but I particularly love. The steak inside is thick and juicy and everything really comes together very well. It’s very filling too, so sometimes I’d just order the half one.
They have a great selection of beers, but that will bring the total cost up a bit. My personal favorite is the Charles V, I find it also goes the best with the Francesinha.
Might well be my first stop when I visit Braga again.

Francesinha muito boa e atendimento 5 estrelas. Pena o espaço ser pequeno para tanta procura

Na minha opinião, a melhor francesinha da cidade de Braga (e a que já comi). O atendimento é 5 estrelas, o espaço é agradável e tem excelente qualidade e variedade de cervejas para quem gostar de cerveja. Para quem for vegetariano, peçam a francesinha vegetariana. Se não quiserem uma francesinha peçam Prego em pão chapata que também é muitooooo bom! Recomendo é que não cheguem ao espaço após as 19h30 senão terão um longo período de espera por uma mesa. Eu vou sempre cedo por isso nunca tenho problema em arranjar mesa! Recomendo vivamente!
