House of Wonders

House of Wonders est la bonne découverte de notre séjour au Portugal.
Un restaurant végétarien avec une déco au top, colorée, ambiance bohème, des fruits en abondance. J’adore ! Le personnel est très agréable, ils parlent français.
Nous avons mangé un mezzé avec un assortiment de différents tapas à déguster à deux. Du houmous, du caviar d’aubergine, du taboulet et une autre purée à base de pois chiche à tartiner sur du pain grillé. Avec cela une énorme salade était servie, un grand plat pour deux avec des fruits, des légumes, c’était très bon et plein de saveurs différentes ! Le tout pour 19 €.
Avec cela nous avons bu deux jus pressés, clémentine, orange, poire et grenade. Le meilleur jus de fruits que j’ai jamais bu ! À 3 € 50 le jus de fruit c’est vraiment dérisoire. Surtout vu la taille.
Ensuite en dessert nous avons pris un assortiment de gâteaux et fruits pour deux, pour moins de 8 €. Sans gluten et sans sucre, c’était très bon ! Mention spéciale pour le brownie qui est fou ! Les poires étaient fondantes et juteuses, un vrai régal :)
Nous avons goûté deux autres jus de fruits en même temps que le dessert, à base de céleri gingembre, c’était un peu moins fou que le premier mais bon quand même. La texture était plus du type smoothy que jus de fruit.
Pour terminer deux cafés, et nous sommes partis avec le ventre bien rempli. Qui a dit que manger végétarien n’était pas copieux?

Delicious vegan dishes and gorgeous views from the roof top. The buffet is a medley of Mediterranean and Indian cold dishes. You serve yourself one plate and can order hot dishes from the kitchen. The fresh fruit and vegetable juices are a delight. There is also a small boutique on the second level. A café and juicer on the the third and a colorful roof top lounging area on the fourth level.

Espaço estéticamente agradável. Refeições simples. Um terraço interessante com móveis reciclados (paletes de madeira) com vista para a baía de Cascais.
Fui lá 2x.
Uma delas com um grupo grande e «internacional». Atendimento simpático.
A 2a vez sozinho.
O atendimento foi fraquito infelizmente.
Terei de lá voltar para tirar teimas um dia destes ;)

I was so happy to find this gem. In the land of bread and meat and pastries, I was glad to find an alternative. I just had a spinach juice, which was delicious. I didn’t have food but plan on going back. They have a rooftop terrace that’s a great vibe.

Wir waren begeistert. Die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte ist ihr Geld wert. Der freundliche Service und die charmante Atmo auf dem Dachgarten laden ebenfalls zum Wiederkommen ein.

OMG ! Best lunch I’ve had in ages :) Vegetarian cold buffet was fantastic, lots of very different salads, pastas and dressings. We opted for the cold buffet and meze plate for two for 24.95, including fresh made bread and mango with ginger chutney. The warm meze was delicious, aubergine moussaka, mushroom risotto, thai curry asparagus, with a side of pilau rice.
We had the fresh lemonade, which you sweeten yourself with brown sugar. Will upload pics once home as forgot my phone

Really liked this little place in Cascais which has a sunny roof terrace and charming staff downstairs who enthusiastically persuaded us to try some juice as well as beer. It has a hippy feel while also being spotlessly clean and well kept. Only negative was no one came to see if we wanted another drink, it might be there’s no table service and you have to go downstairs each time.

Salads from buffet were ok and also the main dish (moussaka, vegie lasagne, mushrooms and rice) but a bit expensive (around 10 euros per plait). Atmosphere was quite nice and also the waitress. But she could have waited with her offerings of the day, she came to us just when we entered the restaurant before we sat down at the table.

Let’s start with the good things: they do have vegan options and it tastes ok. And you can sit on their roof top what is very nice!
BUT: this place is very very expensive!!! We got a plate for 2 for 18,50 €. It was just a bit of green salat, ¼ of Avocado, some stick of carrots, some cubes of cooked beet root, and 4 tiny side dishes.
We left hungy!!!
PS They offer ‘fresh’ juice. It tastes very good. But it’s not fresh fresh. It waits for you next to the entrance. Even not in a fridge!!!

Perfect light lunch on the sunny rooftop. Food was healthy and exactly what we needed after lots of heavy restaurant food the last few days. Herb tea and hot sangria were fabulous on a chilly but sunny day.

We had the buffet — they don’t have a steam table, they just put out bowls of cold food on a table. The food was heavy on the couscous, and on the garbanzo beans. Some of it was a bit too bland, but there was a good selection and I found some to be quite to my taste. There was a chickpea-​yogurt dish that was very good. I also enjoyed the baba ganouj. The lunch is inexpensive — just 7.95. A good price for reasonable quality food.

Tem um terraço maravilhoso na cobertura para os fins de tarde.
Espaço de muito bom gosto, ambiente descontraído.
Todos os pratos muito bem confeccionados, pessoal extremamente simpático e atencioso. Recomenda-​se

La très bonne surprise de cascais!
Un très bon buffet froid très complet et très varié, des produits frais venant des agriculteurs du coin, une réelle envie de bien cuisiner et ça se sent!
Les gourmands seront ravis par les grandes assiettes du buffet :-)
Le vin est bon, et ils font des jus santé à la minute!

Enfin un restau végétarien et gastronomique !!! Après des jours et des jours d’errance au Portugal pour allier végétarisme et bonne bouffe, nous nous sommes rendus au House of Wonders, un restau bio et végé tenu par deux chefs, l’un syrien, l’autre portugais. En résulte une cuisine parfaitement épicée et goutue.
Le service est agréable et le vin excellent ! Tout ca pour une somme très modique. House of wonders arrive directement dans mon top 5 mondial !!!
