Aipal – Agrupamento Indústrial de Panificação de Espinho

Loved this place. I asked the girl in the hotel where I can go for natas and she said Aipal… it even opens at 10:30 at night to serve the second batch of fresh baked goods for the day. Let me tell you the line was out the door. I was shocked that these nice and thin people actually can eat this late at night, LOL. Needless to say I ate a delicious nata which can be found everywhere in Portugal. In addition I tried the bola de Berlin which is a huge crème filled donut that is like a bola in your belly afterwards. Not the best late night snacks if you are planning to get some sleep, but so delicious. The baker is there wearing his cute hat and asking what you would like and the cashier is there to wrap and ring you up, so fast, like an assembly line. He was amused with my cheat sheet of the names of items I needed to order. Tourista!
