Meu limao

Die weiße Sangria hat gut gemundet und war für 9 € pro Liter nicht teuer :) wir haben dazu Batatas Bravas und eine Art Zitronenhuhn bestellt. Beides war gut aber nicht umwerfend. Die Bedienung war nett und die Auswahl an erschwinglichen Gerichten und Tapas groß! Das Ambiente ist sehr hübsch und portugisisch. Wlan ist verfügbar und funktioniert. Alles in allem empfehlenswert.

Very tasty tapas including vegetarian and meat options. More fresh and creative than the usual tourist traps in the area.

Nous cherchions un resto pour dîner vite et bien. Les tapas sont très bonnes et à la hauteur de la déco, typiquement portugaise mais conjuguée au présent. Sans faute.

Mixed reviews here with the dishes. The chicken with Piri was a stand out. The chicken breast was tender and the sauce was perfect with a nice chilling kick and flavour. We also ordered the codfish Portuguese style — we didn’t know what to expect. It was a bit rich with the potato egg but definitely brought some culture to the air. The outdoor setting is nice to watch the locals go by. A glass of rose, this food, watching the locals… Nice and relaxing!

As soon as we knew we were heading back to Lagos, we agreed to return to Meu Limao. In an area that is heavily populated with ‘tourist’ cuisine, it’s great to find somewhere that does something a touch more authentic — that and I have a soft spot for tapas.
We found it easily enough and it has expanded since our last visit. Not inside, but there is at least twice the amount of seating outside, which is reassuring to see; it’s always good to know other people agree with you! We decided to sit inside as there were more tables available and were presented our menus. The ordering style has changed — perhaps to avoid any language barriers — as you now mark up what you want to order on a small sheet and hand it back to your waiter/​waitress. Easy!
On this visit, we had hummus & pitta; piri piri chicken; chicken wings; lentil curry; garlic mushrooms; chickpeas and spinach. Everything came when ready but there were no lengthy gaps between plates. The lentil curry was a personal favourite; after some drinks the night before, I needed the spice it provided. The garlic mushrooms went down very well with the other half, and the piri piri chicken (my only one of the holiday — bad times!) was picked clean.
I washed mine down with a homemade lemonade, lovely to see on the menu as sometimes you need a break from regular soft drinks, and we shared a bottle of water.
Service was friendly throughout and, despite the new ordering system, we were still checked up on frequently to see how our meal was going.

Die portugiesische Küche ist ja nun nicht dafür berühmt, besonders veggie-​freundlich zu sein. Gerade in solchen Urlaubsorten findet man viele (vermeintlich) traditionelle Restaurants, die ihren Fokus auf Fisch– und Fleischgerichte legen. Gar nicht so einfach, wenn man sich vegetarisch ernährt. Wir sind dann auf das Meu limao gestoßen. Tapas und dann auch noch überwiegend Veggie? Klingt gut (keine Sorge, Fleisch & Fisch gibt es auch). Bestellt wird mit Zettel, Stift und Kreuzchen. Die Auswahl ist zu groß, um sie hier wieder zu geben, meine Favoriten waren aber das vegetarische Chili, der Hummus und das Tomaten-​Bruschetta, sowie die Patatas Bravas. Lecker! Zu zweit haben wir 5 – 6 Portionen gehabt, für mich eine ausreichende Menge, um sich nicht ganz vollgestopft zu fühlen. Pro Portion zahlt man so um die 4 € (für die vegetarischen zumindest), so dass man da mit Getränken etc. vielleicht zwischen 30 – 35 € liegt — zu zweit versteht sich. In meinen Augen ein gutes Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis, weniger zahlt man auch in anderen Restaurants nicht. Wir waren so zufrieden, dass wir sogar noch ein zweites Mal wieder gekommen sind. Nur die weiße Sangria, die kann man sich sparen. Die schmeckte wie Limo ;)

Sehr hübsches Ambiente und nette Kellner, aber die Preise sind viel zu teuer für die Speisen, die sich auf der Karte reichhaltiger anhören als sie in Wirklichkeit sind.
