We went here for one thing: pasteis de nata served warm with cinnamon iced cream, and it delivered! The pastry and filling were both well-made, and the cinnamon iced cream was the perfect pairing. We felt guilty ordering just dessert, so we also got the iberico ham and azeitao cheese plate beforehand. It was also quite nice, though I liked the cheese better than the meat. We’ve also already had a lot of good iberico ham during our trip, so it would have taken more to make it stand out. Regardless, we got what we came for and the service was excellent. I’d go back if I had the calories for another round…

The place was empty which should have been our hint to turn around and walk out. Irritating staff to the point you wanted to tell them where to go! Topping up fizzy water after every sip is not only annoying, but obvious that you’re trying to sell another — which they did. The views were OK, was expecting better. Small, small tapas dishes. Difficult to share. Octopus was nice. I couldn’t get out of the place quick enough.

The only reason why there are 2 stars and not 1 is because the Manager was receptive to our complaints and apologetic — offered us drinks and food at the Tapas bar downstairs as a gesture. Otherwise, the food was terrible(which is why we didn’t ask for more food downstairs). I chose this restaurant for our last night in Lisbon because I had read reviews that praised the food and the views. While there were problems with the reservation, I had called to confirm earlier that day that we would be showing up. As if they had forgotten the reservation, my sister and I saw the servers carry a table across the restaurant to the far corner in the back by a bar(which normally would look like a dance floor if they held events). The view of the sunsetting over Lisbon sure would have been nice to see if we had not been shoved by the bar far from the windows.(This is a small restaurant, so shoving us away from the windows is quite a task.) On top of that, the restaurant was clearly overbooked. Two extremely large parties. The servers barely paid attention to my sister and I, to the extent that I had to get up and pour my own water. But the icing on the cake wasn’t the lack of service or being shoved to the back of the restaurant, it was the TERRIBLE, inedible food. –fish and clams: the clams were good. the fish was overcooked, flavorless, and dry –foie gras on a microscopic crostini: is dressing some greens w/olive oil and no acid what they call a salad? dish clearly needed some acid. instead, there was a cinnamon apple chip on the bottom of the greens which only brought out the iron flavor in the foie gras — so much for subtly. not to mention, the foie gras had the texture of a unfried chicken mcnugget. –pork belly: good flavors. under cooked. –mint chocolate mousse: the flavors just didn’t work. nice try at creating and playing w/different flavors and textures, but that is an utter fail. if you had taste buds at all, you would not have plated this despicable mess. –praline: it was gummy. like over cooked oatmeal that had been sitting out. although, in their defense, perhaps it was! since the service was so bad!!! also the candied praline was soggy and not crunchy — but again, likely b/c it had been sitting out. This was a sad and pathetic mess. On the bright side, this really spearheaded my diet. PS. The décor is tacky and cheesey.

The view is breathtaking! This is a restaurant you can’t miss is Lisbon. The service is excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Extremely polite and kind. The food was prepared to perfection. The atmosphere is relaxing. Having never been there before, I was concerned it may be loud, but that was definitely not the case. We were all able to carry on a conversation comfortably. The interior of the restaurant is quaint and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend and visit again.

My sister and I rushed here for lunch but I think next time, I’d give it a miss. You have the option for a fixed price 3 course meal(starter, main and dessert with coffee, plus drink of choice) for a steal at € 12.50 — but by Lisbon standards, it’s quite pricey. Service was ok but the waiter seemed a little run off his feet(there were about 10 of us he was looking after). We chose to have salad(typical Portuguese salad, lettuce, cucumber and tomato with salt, vinegar and olive oil dressing) as a starter and along with the main(a meat and fish course combined) was perfectly filling, however given the reputation of Tágide, I was honestly disappointed. Perfectly seasoned but a little lacking in imagination. Maybe next time ordering a la carte would be the smarter choice?

After a long day at the conference with meetings, presentations, net-working, writing and everything else that comes with international science meetings we headed off for a quiet evening at Tágide. In normal fashion per myself, reservations for this restaurant was done before I even got on the plane at Arlanda(Stockholm, Sweden). The restaurant caught my interest with their honorary mention in Michelin’s White guide and rather positive reviews beforehand. The fun thing is that if you don’t know of its existence and/or location, the odds of just walking past are quite high. Instead of actually seeing a restaurant, the only thing you have is a black door. Inside the door is a rather empty hallway, but take a short walk up the staircase with white walls you enter a lavish room with high white ceilings, windows from the floor up to the ceiling overlooking the beautiful square below. It is that classical feeling of «wow» that just gets you because it is nothing what you expect. Our company was seated at a round table near the balcony overlooking the square so we had an amazing view over both the dining area and outside where the sun was setting in the bay. Before I get into the food itself let me first say how positively excited I was about the waiter. He was friendly, attentive, nice while still down to earth with just the right amount of personal touch — just about everything I expect but rarely experience. Hat’s off. The food then. For starters I had a Tágide classic, the spider crab soup served with crispy parmesan tuile’s. It was rustic, rich and beautiful in flavor. To this I had a white vine which was excellent. For main I had a braised lamb shank that was utterly divine and succulent, just melting in my mouth. It also had some braised turnip greens and sweet potato. Oh my. As always, a dinner must and on a sweet note. Although for me, I prefer desserts not overly sweet, it needs to have a variety of textures and components to get a perfect balance with sweet and sour. This was very well achieved with the chocolate fondant tartelette that was a bit sweet and rich with crunchy pastry. Paired with red berries and the champagne sorbet it was a match made in heaven. We sat there a while after dinner just enjoying the place, sipping on our wine and we had another cocktail before we left with happy stomachs all around. Well worth a visit and your money, without a doubt.

After loving my experience eating at the tapas place that Tagide owns next door, I was super excited to eat at the main restaurant. The pros: –Nice ambiance with view of the water –They gave us a complimentary course, so that was a pleasant surprise The cons: –The food wasn’t as good as the cheaper tapas restaurant owned by Tagide next door. –I felt the dishes didn’t justify the prices –Waitress was accommodating but slightly short with me. For instance, I asked if my friend and I could sit at the open table in the corner. She just said, «no.» No explanation or anything. It just surprised me.

A localização, claro, é super priviligiada.
