Charcoal BBQ chicken with a side of french fries and some vinho branco da casa. As Nespresso add will state, what else? I had this at the bar, no tables needed. As I saw everything moving behind the counter I realized two things. First, the captain of the ship(the guy at the BBQ) never seems in a hurry, even when taking out chicken after chicken after chicken. That’s some expertise I might say. Second, people come and buy for take away, which is always a good thing, mainly if they’re locals(actually, I haven’t seen any tourist in my 20 minutes visit). I even saw a lady bringing two Tupperware to take some Tripas home. They even had an argument with one of the waiters due to the amount he gave her. Anyway. It was a lot for less than 20 euros, and it came with a mountain of rise as a side. The tripas did not seem as good as the ones that I had yesterday at O Buraco, but they could be a glimpse if you wish to try them on group. Anyway, if I came back it would only be for the chicken and the fries. Some things don’t need to be changed.

Le mix grilled pour deux et un plat très/trop copieux mais très bon pour les aficionados de viandes grillées entre steak de bœuf sublime un peux trop cuit mais dont la cuisine fait ressortir tous ces atouts et me ferait presque aimée ce type de cuisson. La côte de porc excellente le poulet en revanche à peine sec… sauf le pilon mais il n’y en avait qu’un seul. Enfin très bien dans l’ensemble. Si vous n’avez pas mangez depuis un moment je vous le recommande. Par contre avec les accompagnements et le vin et le café 36 € pour deux.

We had dinner last night. Chicken and sausage with fries and mixed salad. We ordered only half plates(they say«1 person») and it was more than enough. The sausage is very unusual but delicious and the chicken was impeccable. We didn’t take the starter but we had dessert. I can recommend only slices of fresh oranges, not satisfied with the caramel cream. We decided to take only local cheap wine and it was ok. The price for all was only 20 €! Everybody should go there at least once!

Very generous portions and packed with locals. :) I didn’t have the chicken but I’m a bit of a potato fanatic and their potato side was sooooo tasty. English menu available. Waiters were very nice. Recommended!

Nous avons trouvé ce Resto grâce à Unilocal encore une fois. Suite aux avis et différentes photos nous avons voulu tenter l expérience. Comme les avis ci dessous le précisent il existe deux Resto identiques l’un en face de l’autre. En devanture, une vitrine ou vous pouvez voir cuire les viandes… Ça donne déjà envie rien que voir ça. La salle fait un peu cantine de routier mais je vous assure que les plats sont très bons et en quantité plus que copieuse ! Voir les photos jointes. Le service est normal, sans plus ni moins. Au niveau du prix, c’est quasiment imbattable: 16 € pour deux, plats et alcool compris. Recommandons chaleureusement.

Apparently there are 2 restaurants right across from one another. We went to the main/original one where the first floor is just counter service and you’re right next to the Portuguese BBQs, yum. 2nd&3rd floors are the dining rooms. Some of the best grilled meats we had in Porto(& Lisbon for that matter). We basically had the mixed grill which included their famous roasted chicken(great flavor & so juicy), pork belly, pork steak, beef, sausages. It easily could have fed 3 – 4 people so it was a feast for 2 of us. My favorite was the pork steak. I don’t know what cut of the pig they got it from, but it was so tender & flavorful. I was surprised it had more flavor than the pork belly. They also had a great salad, which was very plain. Maybe it’s the Portuguese olive oil they use that sets it apart. We would definitely come back here. Lots of tourists & locals alike in here enjoying their food.

On y mange bien et pas cher! Ce restaurant est authentique et fonctionne super bien au point qu’ils en ont ouvert un deuxième juste en face! Je dirais pas que c’est mon préféré mais je le recommande chaudement!

Food was delicious and comforting. The service was gracious and quick. After a long day of walking it was so pleasant to be treated with such care. The Tripe was very good and the Fillets of Pescada were excellent! Try this restaurant you will not be disappointed!

Only here you can eat genuine Portuguese cuisine in a typical setting and at a price low by the standards of the city center. The specialty is roast chicken but all the dishes are excellent. Choose the suggestions of the day(different every day) and go play it safe. The waiters, apparently gruff, are in reality very helpful(and if you notice some similarity in their«Popeye» and«Russell Crowe», You’re in the right place). The service is quick. You will come out satisfied and will come back again.
