Antojitos Nicaraguenses

La comida es muy fresca. Queriamos la cocina local y no una trampa para turistas.
The food is very fresh and the owners are very nice, they personally prepare all of the food to order. They offer one main dish as a daily special each day. We had the Repocheta and Tajadas and the spaghetti and meat sauce and also the tilapia. Much prefer this to Raices tourist trap next door.

Food is phenomenal in this place. I ordered repocheta with a drink made out of cacao. It didn’t dissapoint. Food was fresh, and made when ordered. I also tried the perrerreque, and it was delicious. It’s a family-​oriented place. They have a variety of pastries. Looking foward to to my next visit.

Te sientes como si estuvieras en casa de nicaragüenses. Probé un burrito que estaba bien grande y rico, la horchata de cacao (no me encantó), y de postre (todos hechos por ellos) la sopa borracha, el tres leches y un pan de maíz que no recuerdo el nombre (pero fue el que más me gustó). La sopa borracha y el tres leches los encontré muy dulces para mi gusto pero estaban ricos. El lugar es atendido por sus dueños, que son una pareja de Nicaragua muy amables y serviciales. Vas a sentir que son tu familia. No hay muchas opciones de estacionamiento pero eso es un problema común en toda el área. De todos modos encontré uno cercano. Volvería al lugar porque me encanta probar comida de otros países y este lugar se siente como visitar una familia en ese país. ¡Pruébenlo!

Great mom and paps place to eat fresh food. Their carne steak is great, rice and beans are on the spot. I tried their desserts they are homemade super delicious! Service is phenomenal, very kind and warm atmosphere. The facilities are very clean so is their restaurant and kitchen. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner specials. This is like eating at your moms house, good food that you can’t go wrong with.
I came here while visiting my husbands family in PR, I would defiantly come again.

If you want authentic 100 percent Nicaraguan cuisine or are looking for a place to try something different on the island, this is the place for you. Located in the heart of caguas, it offers a different perspective on Latin American cuisine. It is located near the restaurant raíces but unlike a pure Puerto Rican place, it offers diversity of food that are out of the comfort zone of what we usually eat in the island every day. My favorite dish is definitely repochetas (to us it is like a fried tortilla with Nicaraguan cheese inside all covered by a bed of cabbage, definitely a must try!!!)
Don’t forget the Gallo pinto with tajadas and whatever meat is on the menu you will love!!! And last pls even if you’re full get some Tres Leches!!! Trust me you won’t regret it!!!
The place is super clean, something we lack now a days and the ambience is relaxing for someone who just want to chill and eat relax.
