Yassss! This place was awesome!!! My boyfriend and I found this place on Unilocal and just had to give it a try. We walked there from our hotel and couldn’t be happier. At one point he just wanted to stop at a restaurant along the way but I kept him focused on the Arepas. We got there at a great time it wasn’t too crowded but it did pick up once we ordered. We sat for about 15mins as they prepared the Arepas(totally worth it). My boyfriend never has them before so he didn’t know the joy that lied ahead. We ordered the chicken and cheese one, grilled(which takes a bit more time) Delicious!!! The sauces out front are to die for. The arepa was perfect. We took our time bc it was just so good. The garlic and cilantro sauces were perfect flavor additions. When it was all done by boyfriend wanted another but time was against us. He says his biggest regret in PR was not ordering two LOL PLEASENOTETHEYONLYACCEPTCASH! I highly recommend.

Delicious, convenient, fast. All together perfect Beach food. Open 24 hours on the weekend. The arepas are bigger than I expected though so I ended up wasting a bunch of food. Will definitively go again.

Wish it was inside too many pigeons hanging around but the food was good and the guy was nice.

Wow Arepa jack pot ! When I travel I look for places locals like. I avoid touristic places. I have it only 3 stars because if service matters don’t go here. They tend to ignore you and better be ready. They will just turn around and not a word. Good luck getting their attention. BESTAREPA vs the ones I tried at home. The only meh thing was the tequeños. Not my fave. These didn’t taste like the one at home. Can’t wait to try the rest on the menu. Update: went back same lame service. Took forever. Ordered other things on the menu. Worst were the plantains w meat(soaked in oil) and salty meat. Stick to arepas only

This was my first experience eating an arepas and it was incredible. After several days of trying other places during our vacation, this tiny stand had in my opinion the tastiest arepas– we got the avacado chicken and it was wonderful!

This place is delicious. Costing Puerto Rico for the first time and was looking for a different cuisine to try. Found this place on Unilocal. It is definitely worth the hype that I read about. I ordered the arepa with shredded chicken, black beans, cheese and plantain. OMG, to die for. I also ordered the Mango Hugo fresco! So refreshing. Just like drinking liquified fruit. I definitely plan to eat here before I leave.

Amazinnng! The guy behind the counter is very impressive with the pride he takes into making his food. We came back 2x in one night. I was in PR for 4 days and this little gem was the best food we had.

Its worth all the hype — fo sho! Had the camarones, pollo y queso and another corn dish topped with shredded beef and cheese. All were fan-fuckin-tastic and the jugo fresco!!! Ridic! Its like drinking liquified fruits; I had the pina-limon. Oh don’t forget to top off your food with the homemade sauce. Lastly The only landmark that was previously given was that it’s near a gas station. but to be a bit more helpful, if you’re driving down Isla Verde&Banco Popular is on your left, its not too much further up on the left immediately adjacent to the gas station. Happy eating! Oh yea this place is CASHONLY!!!

Yuuuumy! Everything is good here! It’s a small food truck on the way to isla verde beach. A perfect stop! I got the seafood arepa and it did not disappoint! One is big enough to to fill you but they are so go you could totally go for another! The homemade sauces are amazing I wanted to take it home with me! Ask for the fruit shakes too! The service was pretty quick for island time but it was also good timing on our part. Highly recommended!

These little magical creations are so damn delicious. I ordered the«combinicion» and it came out in 7 min and was perfect. I wanted to order a 2nd but the wife stopped me. I did get to order an equally delicious and fresh mango-pina smoothie. Highly recommend this spot and don’t hold back. Get two.

I came here for a quick bite and was super impressed. Flavorful and filling and cheap. The location is a small stand on the side of the road, I ate at a picnic table outside. The bread was delicious– either grilled or deep fried(couldn’t tell) but crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I had the chicken, beef, cheese and shrimp one. It was stuffed with ingredients. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

This experience confirmed to me that any food shop residing next to a gas station is suspect of being a pretty awesome hole-in-the-wall. Yes, Marylanders – I was thinking of R&R Taqueria in its glory days tucked in the gas station on Route 1! Speaking of glorious, Los Chamos Arepas was just that, from it’s freshly-fried arepa covering, generous helping of meat, to its homemade green sauce… all for only $ 5. Even though they ran out of shrimp(it was a bit past noon when we got there), we tried the mixta arepa and it was seriously delicious. The thickness of the arepa was just right, and there were a variety of hot sauces sitting on the bar counter. A local woman sitting next to us enthusiastically recommended several arepas that were her favorites. As for me, I couldn’t get enough of that green sauce and after the first squirt, it was applied onto every bite thereafter until that arepa was done.

AMAZING!!! I could eat these things for days! The arepa itself it perfect(grilled on the outside to uphold the fillings, while light and fluffy on the inside), not to mention the quality fillings and sauces. I had the special Mixta(chicken, beef and cheese), the Carorena(black beans, sweet plantains and cheese), and a chicken and cheese. I was trying to squeeze these in as «snacks» between other scheduled meals, but still was able to have 3 in two days. I long for my next trip to PR so I can go again and feast on 3 – 4 in one sitting on the beach!

So this is my first time trying a street cart at Puerto Rico… my friend recommended this place to me so it must be really good. Didn’t have time to sit down(they only had a small counter anyway) so we just grabbed the shredded beef arepas(similar to the stuffed bun). Looked delicious and tasted even better! Wish I could have more days spent around here so that I can try other varieties!

We were looking for a slightly less expensive meal here in Isla Verde today for lunch. We grabbed a quick meal here. The cook was very helpful since we didn’t know at all what the menu was advertising. He explained what each item was and we decided to give it a try. My mom had an arepa — the reina pepidas It’s like chicken salad with avocado on top. The arepa is like a flatbread made with maize. It’s fried and crispy but good. Mine was the combinacion which had shrimp chicken, shredded pork, ground beef and two kinds of cheese. It reminded me very much of a taco. It was tasty and they have a whole shelf of different sauces you can add to jazz them up including garlic sauce, cilantro, and a ton of different hot sauces. The arepa that it was wrapped in was crispy and good too. I would definitely eat here again. Maybe tomorrow! Lol. Oh and did I mention it was only $ 6,00 and very filling? I also got an ice tea. It was good too. Tasted like lemonade and tea mixed together. Very refreshing and not just poured out of a bottle but actually made fresh while I waited. Great cheap eats for sure!
