Surfing Lessons Rincon Puerto Rico

Ramse is so good at explaining the process of surfing, step by step. We took 3 lessons with him (both of us had never surfed but we do snowboard) and we both stood up on the waves the first day! I was so nervous– I’m not the best swimmer and the ocean freaks me out! Ramse is patient and makes it easy to schedule lessons, he’s funny, and a great instructor. If you ever want to even think about surfing– take a lesson with Ramse!!! He makes it easy.

Our kids (19 & 17) have never surfed before, and Ramse’s group lesson was fantastic! He worked with them first on the beach and really stressed safety, so as parents we felt very comfortable that he would ensure their safety in the water. Ramse is very nice, fun, patient and extremely knowledgeable about surfing. Both kids were able to get up and ride a few waves. They can’t wait to go again! At the end of the lesson, Ramse invited everyone to join him at a local coffee/​smoothie shop which was a great ending to our time together. We would highly recommend this experience with Ramse!

I had an amazing time in Rincon, mostly due to the time spent with Ramse both in the water and out. This was my second time surfing, and second series of lessons I have had — first time in PR and first lessons with Ramse. Not only is Ramse a great surfer, but he is professional, polite, patient, very positive, and extremely knowledgeable regarding the area and the practice of surfing.
I took lessons throughout the week (3 total) and noticed improvement during each lesson. Ramse focused on the little things to help me progress at a pace that wasn’t ‘out of reach’. By the last day of my trip, I was able to use the techniques that Ramse taught me to catch a few of my own waves, that is, without direct «coaching».
I would (and already have) recommend Ramse to any novice or experienced surfers. He is a great asset to the surf community and to the Rincon Area. Seriously, if you are traveling to Rincon, do not look anywhere else!

Surfing lessons with Ramse!
Apparently I wasn’t listening to the very thorough and dedicated lesson Ramse gave us on the beach before we went in the water. Especially the part when you fall off the board you should fall away from it, because I hit my chin and got the BEST «war» bruise! Ironically this was my second go at catching a wave and I actually got up.
Anyways! We were lucky enough to have Ramse all to ourselves because we came to Rincon in the off season. We did a half day, which was a great deal and I highly recommend it if you need to learn, well, lots of stuff. There must be something magical about this guy, It’s like he’s the tourist whisperer or something! But really, I think Ramses is just super passionate about surfing and sharing his knowledge with the people fortunate enough to learn from him. He takes his business very seriously and you can tell that he loves it. He picked us up at our hotel, made sure we had everything we would need, got us up on our boards, gave us useful feedback taking great care to protect my ego, then he took us to a local joint for lunch afterwards. It was delicious.
They are also one of few who are certified, licensed and endorsed.

Excellent experience. Pure «bucket list» gold! We had 6 in out group and Ramses had his long time friend Tito instruct so it was really a personal experience. The location was about as picturesque as it gets. A beautiful cove, a light house to the north and perfect weather. We had Zero experience with surfing and were able to get up within the first couple tries. They were attentive and excellent at correcting our flaws in technique immediately.

Ramse is the BEST.
He’s a local who knows everyone and has great tips for your stay in addition to expert teaching. He’s one of the most respected pro surfers on the island but is sweet and patient enough to help improve your surfing. Even my jaded surfing teens felt he was cool enough to learn from. He has a very sweet genuine spirit and is fun to hang out with which helps when you’re floating in the water for hours on end!
Your only problem may be he is so good that you should book him before you go! His website makes that easy and i found corresponding with him fast and efficient.

Ramses was our guide for the an entire week. He showed us all the breaks, gave us tips on each wave and watched our stuff while we were out on the waves. Since he’s also a pro surfer, he knows all the locals so if you’re with Ramses, you’re not going to run into any trouble.
He’s also the only guide in Rincon that is licensed and insured. all of the other guys don’t carry insurance and are legally not allowed on the beaches for instructions. This was a big deal.
He also gave us great rec’s for food, surf spots etc. Even helped us get a private chef to make food for the house. So helpful.
great teacher, great guy. He was the highlight of our trip. There should be a 6 star option for this guy.
