The wife and I arrived at the airport early from our cruise and we couldn’t check our bags just yet so we decided to look for something to eat. We found this place and it was the most crowded. Small seating area and staff was of average service caliber. We ordered two sandwiches, they were double deckers! And so good! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a tasty breakfast at the airport!

I stayed overnight at the San Juan Airport Hotel. El Meson is a little café serving sandwiches, soups, and salads inside the terminal. A plus is that it is situated before TSA screening. Think of El Meson as a Puerto Rican version of Panera Bread. Although, they do have much more flavorful sandwich offerings. I ordered a bbq chicken sandwich. The bread was incredible and the chicken had a yummy sauce and a nice, smokey flavor. The cheese was melted nicely on the chicken. I enjoy how they cut their sandwiches… on a long diagonal. All of your bites of the sandwich get an equal amount of the toppings that way. El Meson was fairly crowded and has a small dining area. The other food options were Subway, Burger King, and another Puerto Rican place that was closed. The staff was ok… not overly friendly, but quick and robotic.

We stayed at the hotel in the airport and had limited food options, so we opted to try this spot out. The staff seemed very curt and blunt with us, but was instantly friendlier once someone local came up behind us. I ordered a BBQ cheddar chicken sandwich and it was actually quite good. The meat cooked well, the cheese melted and in each bite, and the sauce full of flavor. The bread was soft and delicious. The over cost of the meal was abit high, but it was expected as this is located in the airport. If we are in San Juan again, we may give it another go.

Why do we not have this in Canada? I love the thin toasted bread, and the sandwiches are a good size. Ate here waiting for my plane to Vieques and it was a great option, I guess it’s considered«fast food» but it felt quite healthy and tasted awesome for food at an airport!

Hit this place up for breakfast before you go through security. Breakfast is good and reasonably priced. Seating is a bit limited but worth every penny compared to what you find after you pass security.

This is a well known chain in PR and if you are in terminal B at SJU and you are hungry you must come by and give it a try. This are well prepared, succulent sandwiches. I had breakfast here and you must know their coffee is really good too. Space is tight and lines could be long at times. I just got lucky to be the 3rd in line and to find a spot to sit. Try it, Buen Provecho!

El Meson is a well known«fast food» chain on the island. I have only been to the airport location so far. Seating is limited, so you may want to do «to go» and sit by the food court which is a very short walk down the hall. Sandwiches are their specialty, and I would recommend just about anything on the menu! They offer these jumbo size sandwiches that feed 10+ people, so for those big groups traveling who want a decent meal at a decent price, this is it!($ 20) Breakfast…my favorite items off their menu, are the cornmeal or hot oatmeal. Believe me. Oatmeal and Cornmeal are prepared wonderfully in Puerto Rico. You will thank me later!

This location is in the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. I had an early flight at 8 am and this was a perfect place to eat at and very convenient before you catch the plane. Prices are reasonable actually very low compared to other fast food chains. I ordered their special Pavochon which had pernil, turkey, cheese, mojito, letttuce, and tomato. Very delicious and low prices whats not to like. My girlfriend had the Montecristo which was also delicious. It was different and for me it was better to try somewhere different than eating at the same olé I can get anywhere in the states. I would definitely go here again when I go back here.
