Great place to try if you’re looking for Thai food in San Juan. Tom Ka Gai wasn’t on the menu, but the waiter told us they would happily make it for us! Garlic wings are tasty, and so was their special of the day the panang curry and so was the soup. Awesome Thai food overall! My only complaint would be the under sweetened thai tea, but it was still pretty good.

Finally, a New York City style Asian spot that really delivers on taste, service and atmosphere! Try their Chow Fun Noodles or their Pad Thai(Gluten-free if you ask your server to omit the Soy Sauce). The Ginger Lemonade was mild and refreshing, the Thai Iced Coffee is bold and sweet — very good! We came here late in the afternoon and walked around La Placita(2 blocks away) afterwards and enjoyed $ 4 Frozen Sangria’s. Highly recommend this restaurant and their price points are fair($ 9 and up to about $ 14 for the most part). An EXCELLENT addition to San Juan’s «La Placita» neighborhood that offers Thai/Vietnamese cuisine that cannot be found anywhere else. Chic. Cheap. Magnifiqué! Thumbs up!!!

This place was quite delicious. We are vegetarians and we had the banh mi with tofu and the green curry. Both were quite. I live in NY and this place was better many of the places I’ve been to in NY. I had the old fashioned with bourbon and that was very unique and delicious. Also the service was awesome and the bathroom was the cleanest one that we experience in all of Puerto Rico.

We have ALWAYS had great experiences here, the food and drinks always on point! Many vegan and vegetarian options, open for lunch and dinner, and they have an absolutely amazing staff. Will recommend every time.

OMG! The food here is delicious! Best described as Thai fusion! Incorporating some of the local ingredients with Thai flavors. Nice atmosphere, super attentive staff. First off the drink menu, if you like gin, and my husband does, you will love this place. The mixed specialty drinks are unusual but tastey. Don’t miss the lychee martini, my sister is now a lychee fan. I had the Thai Chili Paloma, all I know is the glass was rimmed with powdered chili — oh so good. Don’t miss the green curry dish, mild heat and delicious. We had it with chicken, there are other protein options. We also shared the bbq pork drunken noodles and the bbq pork pad thai, both unbelievably good. All and all, this place was a surprise to find, BUTWEWILLRETURN. Make your way jere, you will not be disappointed.

Boyfriend and I came here absolutely starving after a day at the beach. They seated us despite the fact that we probably had sand literally coming out of our pockets. Everyone else was pretty dressed up, and it looked like there was at least one birthday party going on here. We started off with the sweet dried beef, which came with a spicy dipping sauce and sticky rice. The beef had the texture of really tough jerky, and the sticky rice was unpleasantly hard and gummy. However, the flavors of the dish worked really well together and I enjoyed putting that spicy sauce on everything. Mains included drunken noodles with chicken(for me) and pad seyu with beef(for him). The beef in the pad seyu was very chewy, and both dishes were super salty to the point where it was hard to taste anything else. I saw a few other people order the curry dishes which looked amazing, and the drinks also looked good. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but I wasn’t impressed.

Absolutely delicious, spicy, flavorful Thai food. It can verge on a bit salty but each plate has tremendous depth. We ordered the chicken larb, pad thai, and basil stir fry. The gin and tonic selection is incredible — homemade tonic that had so many different layers and fantastic list of gins. The litchi cocktail is amazing. Excellent waitstaff. Really awesome option for a night out.

Top Thai cuisine in the middle of the new hip barrio of Santurce. I didn’t expect Puerto Rico to have such an authentic Thai restaurant. All the food we had was just awesome, and their creative cocktail selection makes you want more. The crowd is 100% hipster, and not your typical island folks. This place is hot!

The food was flat out delicious. Had the drunken noodles and the gin and tonic and I am definitely going again. The food was spicy but the good kind of spice, had a very good kick. I can’t wait to go again! I feel bad for the people who haven’t had a good experience here because the food, the service and the drinks were on point when i went.

The restaurant has added it’s own twist to each of the usual thai dishes. Everything from the appetizers(soup and garlic dried chicken) to the entrees(holy basil stir fry, mai pen rai fried rice) to the cocktails(thai chile paloma) were delicious. The waitress was very courteous and the ambience was great! Would definitely come back here if I had a chance.

Great Thai food! We ordered the garlic chicken wings and fish cakes to start. The flavors were out of this world good, so good my small boys were begging for more and they are very picky. For our main we ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and all I can say is WOW! They also have amazing drinks specializing in gin I had the old fashion and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. We will be back for sure, and many times

Really enjoyed this place. It was like a little slice of a cool modern restaurant from back home. The menu was capable of being modified as vegan for any item(including their sum tom hot dog), and we were pleasantly surprised at the taste being that there are only like 2 Thai places in PR. I would not classify it as «traditional» Thai but more like a modern twist on Thai. They also had some very very cool and unique cocktails creations. The drunken Noodles were really good, as was the green curry(both with tofu). I also enjoyed the papaya salad. Other guests had the chicken larb and spicy basil dishes and enjoyed them. Prices were reasonable for San Juan and the service was VERY attentive. We will be back!

This place is terrible. The service was bad, the entrée was bas and even their dessert was bad. I came here with my family and we ordered Beef Pad Thais and a Drunken Noodle with fried tofu. The Pad Thais were extremely acid… they literally tasted like lime. And the beef was unedible — hard, chewy and had no seasoning. The Drunken Noodle was ok — nor bad or good. My father ordered a hot tea and the waiter — who doesn’t take notes — forgot completely about it. I mean… it is hard if you don’t take notes. We ordered a sorbet for dessert… My thought was: it is impossible to go wrong with sorbet. I was wrong. They did it. We got 3 flavors: coconut, passion fruit an lime. The coconut was the only acceptable one — and still, nothing special. I am used to good thai restaurants and this is definitely the WORST I ever had. DON’T EATHERE, PEOPLE!

We are on vacation and we were on a Thai food hunt with our local friend. We first stopped by at Bangkok Bombay but the prices were pretty high and they didn’t have the drunken noodles I normally get at a Thai restaurant. We decided to try out this place. This service was really good. Our water would be half way empty and they would fill it right away. I ordered the Thai Hot Chicken Drunken Noodles. It definitely had a kick compared to the«hot» TL ordered the Pad Kuyu that was similar to my dish. Both were really good, had lots of flavor and spice! Would definitely recommend this place. The prices were a bit higher than normal, but it was not too bad.

Appetizers are amazing: garlic wings are crazy good! Drunken noodles, lemongrass stir fry are awesome. Pad Thai not so much… Too many noodles. I would skip that one. Leechee Cocktail was terrific… Definitely save room for desert.

I went to La Placita in Santurce, PR with my siblings: Pedro Antonio and his beautiful wife Yasthel, and my sister Kathryn. This was my first time at La Placita(hard to believe!!). We got there about 10 minutes before closing time and were greeted as soon as we walked in. Our server never stopped smiling as she took care of us during our visit. She knew every item on the menu and even made suggestions to help us break our impasse. It turned out Pedro and Yasthel wanted the green curry dish but one of them had to order something different. Our waitress suggested a Pad Thai as a complement to the green curry dish. Problem solved. I ordered a fried rice dish — Mai Pen Rai Fried Rice. it consists of stir-fried Jasmine rice with tomatoes, onions, Thai basil, and bean sprouts in Thai Chili garlic sauce served with two over easy eggs. The Jasmine rice and Thai basil really came out. I chose to have tofu added out of a selection of beef, chicken or bbq pork. Kathy had the crispy garlic chicken wings. Judging by the left-over bones it must have been delicious. Good selection of mixed drinks, wines, beers and other non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. Next time I am in town I’ll stop by for desert so that I can report on them as well.

What the what??? After just moving from Miami to Puerto Rico and having enough mofongo to last me decades, I COULDNOTWAIT to get my Thai fix here in PR. I became even more excited when I searched and noted this place just recenrly opened and was very near my home in Condado. The ambience is fabulous, looks clean, trendy with a top-notch friendly staff. Now the food… geeze Mai Pen??? I know Thai food, I know Thai flavors. I’ve had them in Miami, New York and San Francisco. We began with the chicken Satay. The chicken was super bland, did not taste the coconut milk and other marinating spices. The peanut sauce was good though. I ordered the special thai chile tequila mixed drink. It was bitter, not refreshing or yummy. I am not sure if it was missing something. I drank it because i did not want to «joder», but defenitely could not order again.(I wonder if the bartender has ever actually ever tried it). To me, it tasted like what I think gasoline would taste like. The Thai iced Tea was not good. Yes it had that orange hue, yes it was creamy, but totally lacked any sweetness or herbal essence. I ordered the chicken pad Thai… WHAT??? What I was served was a bowl of what I can only describe as noodles drenched in vinegar. Dish was tart and unappetizing. The overly-excited waitress came over to see how everything was. I asked«is the chef Thai?» She said no, she was Korean. I politely told her that this was not good pad Thai and asked for some peanut sauce. I poured the sauce on my noodles and was able to eat my dish. Anywho… place may be good for those who do not know the true Thai flavors, but Mai Pen Rai is NOT serving authentic Thai flavors. I also noted the curries they were serving to others was watery, not milky or layered with vegetables. If I want Korean and kimchi flavors I will go to a Korean restaurant. Keep if real Mai Pen, keep it Thai. Bring on the coconut milk flavors. Best part of the evening was the peanut sauce and the cool vibe of Mai Pen Rai.

My first time in Mai Pen Rai and it was heaven. Here in PR you can’t find original Thai places! Loved the mussels; they were the right consistence and the spices were orgasmic! We asked for more bread because it is a must to dip on the mussels broth! Our 2nd appetizer were the chicken«pinchos» with a sauce of peanuts and coconut… delish! And our final dish was the classic Mai Pen rice with beef perfectly done with a light spiciness(we toned it down a bit) For dessert, the fried wontons filled with dark chocolate and top with vietnamese coffee ice cream… mmmm to die for! Thanks Mai Pen Rai
