So many stickers on the beach and tons of seaweed. I am surprised the park doesn’t maintain the areas. Oh well at least the view was nice.

We went to Chiva Beach #10 at the suggestion of the concierge at The W Hotel. Really beautiful spot. We visited during the off-season and we felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Only a couple other people. I did my meditation without any interruption. The water is shallow and clear and colorful and warm and… how do you describe this beautiful place? The beaches in this area are numbered. You will see little signs. #10 is a bit further down, which may have contributed to it being so quiet. I didn’t visit any other beach on Vieques, But if you want to visit a beach on Vieques, I cannot imagine you will be unhappy with this one.

Bahia de la Chiva/Blue Beach now shares the #1 spot in my book with Fernando do Soronha in Brazil !!! Miles and miles of green shallow clear waters then drops to the deep blue caribbean sea ! You can paddle board for miles then surf back to the shore — and start all over again. Like Fernando do Soronha, there are no food/beverages vendors, so bring what you need. Rent a car(which costs $ 60/day — –expensive !!! — or take any of the numerous taxis that line up along the ferry terminal. I paid $ 15 bucks one way and those drivers are so willing to do the pick up if you agree on a time. Mine did at 5pm on the dot, very friendly and even showed me how to do the batchata — the island dance move !
