Les Halles

Les Halles is another centrally located up scale and relatively new restaurant in the city of Lund that tries to offer a more high end dinning experience. And in my opinion Les Halles is one of the more successful however limited contenders in this class.
Comparing to the other up scale restaurants in Lund Les Halles must be categorized as a more traditional and classical French cuisine restaurant. This is where you can order snails Moules Marinières or Choucroute Royale together with great suggested wines. The evening menu is not an intricate one and in fact suffers from being so limited but what is offered here is well executed and with great care. Unfortunately the small and limited size of the place makes it hard to decorate and thus welcoming cosy. In other words the ambiance provided at Les Halles is nowhere as good as the food.
The service is pretty attentive but somewhat impersonal, also depending on how busy the restaurant is the less attentive staff gets and the larger groups seem to be more prioritized. The daily changed lunch menu offers a good value in terms of price, variety and quality in fact so much so I for one ratter visit during lunch than dinner.
