M.E.A.T.

I’ve just had the lunch specials and they’ve been fantastic. The meat comes perfectly grilled and both the desserts and coffees hold high standards. Location is central and there’s plenty of parking nearby. Staff is young but holds great service in mind which is appreciated even though the restaurant might be full.

Fantastic meal and good service. Got an extra burger for free because of someone elses wrong order. Didn’t think I could eat it but down it went :) Really worth a try

I was here during my amazing visit to Copenhagen in December. I took the train up to Lund for a brief day trip to explore the town. As I was still in Lund in the evening and not sure what, if anything to eat, I stopped in this place. It was about 45 minutes before their dinner service started but they were very accommodating at the bar, having a full range of liquor, some draft selections, a good selection of bottled beers as well.
Anyway, the bartender/​waiter let me know they were firing up the grill and I decided to go with the hamburger. They cooked it to order for me and… honestly, it was probably one of the most perfect burgers I’ve ever had in my life, if not THE most perfect. Though a little pricy, it was so well worth it, as their grill imparted an incredible flavor to the insanely fresh and perfectly seasoned juicy meat.
I ate… and ate… and ate… and still could only manage about ¾ of it, sadly. The fries and I think truffle aioli I had were incredible too.
I still think longingly about that burger sometimes. If you have some money and are in the area, definitely consider stopping by.

M.E.A.T. was awesome. We did have to get a reservation, but it was well worth it. Hipstery, for sure, M.E.A.T. offered a certain ambiance. But beyond that, the food was just great. We got the caviar appetizer and really liked the combination of flavors (including a citrus curd!). The burger was then incredible; the meat was obviously fresh, and the whole thing was a fun adventure to eat. It came with fries and homemade ketchup, too.
Of all the places I ate in Lund, I end up feeling that this was the best, and is a place I’d definitely recommend to friends and other tourists. Good food, good experience, and something memorable. Not cheap, though.

The service is great. The 350 gram Dakota Black Angus was very tasty. I ordered it medium rare and it arrived a perfect pink and at the perfect temperature. My only complaint would be the short order of small fries you get with the meal instead of some proper potatoes. The sauce that comes with the steak can be left in the kitchen as well. Who needs sauce when the steak is done properly?

Finally the red meat trend has caught up with the small town of Lund in shape of a modern steakhouse called, rightfully and deservedly I might add, M.E.A.T. This is the place for the carnivore in you!
M.E.A.T at lunch is a favorite of mine even though the lunch offers are somewhat pricier than the average. However the atmosphere, the staff, and the kitchen justify the prices. A pleasant, modernly decorated and relaxed place that brings you generous portions of well-​made, exciting and tasty dishes.
Almost everything we tried at M.E.A.T is good but some of the less considered important sides are crazy good! Take the aioli for instance; it is to die for even though the purist would argue jalapeño does not belong in it. THEY WRONG! It packs another level of heat to the sauce making it, in opposite to regular aioli, memorable! The charcoal grilled rib-​eye at M.E.A.T is a star but it gets there with the kim chee béarnaise sauce.
The sandwiches are M.E.A.T’s way of serving somewhat lighter lunch and usually they are good, but in my opinion some are not as good compared to the rest of the menu and even less when considering the price. I am not a big Ruben fan but having had some overseas I think the ratio between the sauerkraut and meat should be the opposite. This is the only time I felt M.E.A.T was less generous than they should be; too light on the meat and too heavy on the veggies! I also think the M.E.A.T burger v.2 however delish does not offer the taste one might expect by its asking price. It cost almost the same as the Rib-​eye steak and without the kim chee béarnaise!
Regardless of the minor objections, call it differences in opinion, the carnivore in me has always been satisfied at M.E.A.T.

Top-​notch stakehouse with incredible dishes and amazing service. If you want to have an evening dinner at a great place but for a price, go here. Strongly recommended!
