The dim sum is pretty good, but the soup is what you should order. Among the variety available, I suggest the chicken soup. There are garnishes to the side where you can adjust the flavoring to suit your taste!

Don’t have much to say, i don’t really know if the food is horrible or that I’m not used to eating dublings(or picked the wrong dish). But the smell and taste of what i got was absolutely horrible, and the pricing was of course steep to boot. Would really not recommend it for just something to «try out».

It’s exciting to see Dim Sum Bars as a Dim Sum lover, but it’s really hard to stumble upon a good one. This one is located in the mall Emporia in the food court and at a first glance at the menu a lot of things looks really tempting. We decided to try the Peking duck and Mantao buns before deciding if we would order anything more. The skin on the duck was crispy but the duck wasn’t juicy enough and the buns were way too small. This dish is way too simple to replicate at home buying frozen duck and Mantao from the Asian store so it didn’t stand out enough for us and we decided not to get anything else from this place.

Food courts or the food offered at them might not be the most exciting to review but I am not a snobbish/posh foodie so I discriminate no restaurants. Also being in love with Dim Sum I do get excited to see these heavenly pillows/pouches served anywhere! Seeing the pretty large menu and the pretty large amount of ethnically correct costumers at Jou San — dim sum bar in the newly opened posh shopping mall Emporia were also additional adrenalin injections helping to raise my core temperature. Sadly Jou San is a so-so attempt that could not deliver any serious Dim Sum fever. What does make it so-so? Simply the taste; it is too moderately seasoned thus it can be often described as blend. I am not going to ask for them to be handmade or even tightly sealed when served nor am I going to complain about the sauces being right out of the bottle or can(fish/vinegar or dried chili flakes) but they cannot and I repeat CANNOT be blend. Why eat shrimp and peanut dumplings that taste less of shrimps and more of peanut? Or why mini fried spring rolls that just taste of pastry? Gyozas are okay even though a little too sticky but a little more filling all over the board is not only recommended but also needed especially at the prices asked. The custard buns are however great, but hey I am a sucker for anything with vanilla excluding the artist Vanila Ice or his music. I strongly feel and suspect that the stars are the noodle soups at Jou San. I did sample the chicken & herb soup and it was nicely seasoned and with right amount of perfectly cooked rice noodle. Portion-wise the soups are also a much better bang for the buck. This suggests and presents me with a dilemma: Jou San is a much better Soup bar than a Dim Sum bar!
