Really nice restaurant/bar in Malmö. The absolute best place to get proper Swedish food. There’s a lot of people on weekends but it’s not that hard to get a table since a lot of people go here just to have a beer or two.

I came into this restaurant based off other reviews during a day trip Malmö from Copenhagen. I came on my own but it appears to be a restaurant that’s great for that during lunch, and based on the recommendation of the waitress I had the daily special. It was plenty of food and a very Swedish meal, featuring a sort of meatball, jam, potatoes, sauce and peas. The meat was good but a little too salty for my taste, and I enjoyed eating their very creamy potatoes which went very well with the meal.

I was staying in Copenhagen with a group of friends, and we decided to take the train over to Sweden on our last night to get a real Swedish meal. Wow, was it delicious. Possibly the best meal we had in Europe during our visit. Make sure to make a reservation, or be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes(even on a week night), but it’s worth it! We got the garlic bread, meatballs, friend bacon in onion sauce(which is the swedish meatball sauce but sooo much better), and some sort of bacon on an egg cake. These three entrees alone were way too much for 4 people, but of course we ate all of it. They have a decent selection of beer. The location is great, as it’s buy the big shopping area. If I’m ever back in Malmo, I will go to this place again.

Visited Malmö and couldn’t leave Sweden without having Swedish meatballs. The meatballs were made from veal. It was soooo good and sides were great. Worth a visit. Also had lingonberry juice. Great meal and great service.

Really, really excellent meal. We both had the veal meatballs with mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumber, with a local Lager from nearby Lund, and couldn’t say enough good things about it. Serious comfort food, whether you’re Swedish or not. We were served by the owner, a friendly-grouchy older gentleman who joked with us about American beer, and when we asked for the meatballs, said, «Oh god, the Internet sent you, didn’t they?» which was entirely true. The restaurant itself is a beautiful heritage space, all oak panelling and crown molding, cozy and very comfortable. The fact that it was totally packed at 10.00 on a weeknight suggests the locals are big fans too. Highly recommended.

I’m totally biased with this review, since Malmö is my hometown, and Två Krögare has been one of those classic restaurants that will always have a special place in my. heart. The restaurant is more commonly, among Malmöites, known as «Bullen»(bun) since the days it used to be named«The Bull’s Eye». Like everything else, Swedes love to add a «swenglish» twist on words, and Bullen came to be. In fact, even the website is called bullen( ). The restaurant has been around for over a century; since 1897. The menu has transitioned and adapted with time, but there is an underlying Swedish simplicity that is embraced and praised in every meal and recipe, that not many restaurants can entitle themselves with. It is hard to reject a hearty meal that has been prepared with the best and freshest local ingredients, and the best Atlantic salmon. There are not many restaurants I can mention right off the bat, that would be worth visiting. One interesting thought I had, is that Bullen never offered anything sophisticated that was way off the chart. Meaning that, if you’ve fine dined in the best restaurants in the world, Michelin star restaurants or on a prix fixe sitting, Två Krögare will not blow your socks off, but will surely make a long-lasting impression with its authenticity and ambiance. It is genuinely an old place, it has history, and it is partly a rich museum with century-old artifacts. The bar area is, as I remember, one of the original sections from a century ago, and the beer tap likewise. A definite must-go must-try if you’re in Malmö, Sweden. Even if you stop by for a beer. The rich history has never been so well-kept, as in this restaurant.

Our first stop in Malmö for having lunch. You must go inside and have a look at the origin design. We had our lunch outside in the sun without any noise. My husband ate the cannelloni with salmon and garlic. I had the noodles with mushroom and bacon. Both are delicious and very fast served. In addition of an nice service a perfect location for a break.

Even though we were almost 15 minutes late to our 1pm reservation, we were still greeted warmly and seated right away. And I DO recommend a reservation; apparently our table was also booked at 3pm and 6pm. Our server came by with a good, dark Swedish beer and an uninspired cider(Somersby.) very soon after we ordered. Unfortunately one of the glasses was cracked but was quickly replaced and so was the cider. We only got to enjoy the ambiance and being watched by a portrait of Henry VIII for what felt like only a few minutes before the food came to our table. The service here is so fast! Of course we had to try the meatballs, and they were delicious. Due to the speed with which they flew out of the kitchen, I was afraid they’d be dry and tough from sitting under a heating lamp. But they were tender and very moreish, going very well with the whiskey sauce and the creamy mashed potatoes. My friend wasn’t crazy about the lingonberries than came with the dish, but I thought they were a necessity. I opted for the day’s special; beef steak with bernaise sauce and a pork filet with mushroom sauce. Both steaks were tender and juicy, especially the pork! I am not crazy about bernaise sauce, so I mostly left it alone. But the mushrooms were wonderful. My dish also came with a little pot of pan-fried potatoes and onions, which were a little greasy but seasoned well and tasted nice. The food here is filling and comforting and perfect with beer! But the service is what gets the extra star. Before arriving, I inquired about a few things by email and they were replied to within the hour. The only thing I could possibly fault the place for is being dressed like a pub and not having a respectable cider. But I can easily forget that and I would love to come back.

Im visiting here from USA… They dont seem to want foreigners on here. Was hoping for some authentic swedish food. It appears this pub does not care for my patronage. Every other customer who is swedish is being well attended to. Ive been here for 35 minutes hoping to be offered a dinner menu and all i have been able to get is one beer! Wtf? Time to ask for the check and bail…

We headed to this pub to try out the famed meatballs. We were not disappointed. We also started our meal with a decadent fish bisque and another member had the bacon with onion gravy and new potatoes. We all agreed it was the best meal we have had in a while. Service was very friendly as well.

The food here is great, very good. However, the locals definitely think they own this place and are not very welcoming of anyone outside of their circles — Swedish cold shoulder(but of course, this is Sweden). Recommend a reservation as they will just turn you away if you do not have one and it fills up with«the regulars» most of the time.

Excellent local meal served here. I had the veal meat ball with whisky gravy that came with soft mashed potatoes and sliced cucumber on the side. It was served in huge portion, hearty and homely! I enjoyed every bite of it. My husband had the half portion of creamy fish soup which was really delicious and perfect in winter weather. The ambiance is pretty much pub-like yet comfortable. The staff were quick and quite friendly. Overall, I would recommend this spot to tourist who wants to enjoy local food.

Ate here during our trip to Scandinavia. The Swedish meatballs with whiskey gravy, mashed potatoes and lingonberries were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. Was busy, so you may have to wait a little bit for a table, but well worth it.

Very good food… my wife loved loved the french fry sauce. We were fortunate to walk in and get a seat. My wife and I would definitely go back if we were back in Malmo which we had a really good time in. They also have English menu’s available if you ask.
