Went there a couple of times and must say the amount of beers is impressive. The food on its turn is ok. The menu goes along with the menus in Belgium: there’s a mussels season(a variety of sauces), there’s the asparagus season, etc. The number of sauces in which the mussels are served differ a bit from the five or six typical ones that are offered in Belgium, but I guess that they are adapted to the local taste. They also have the beef stew: very good one time, a bit less tasty another time. In general is this a nice place to have a quick dinner, but I suppose that the majority of the people come for the variety of beers.

This was a very enjoyable meal. They have a rather respectable wines-by-the-glass list, and the Moreau & Fils Chablis was excellent. The shrimp scampi was the best I’ve ever had. The entrée was only slightly less stellar. I ordered the rack of lamb, which was just a touch undercooked and somewhat lacking in actual meat on the bone. But it had a wonderful reduction sauce, and the scalloped potatoes were divine. The Australian shiraz was a little green and disappointing but better once it opened up a bit. The service was relatively attentive, although the time lapse between the appetizer and entrée was a bit more lengthy than expected(although admittedly I did not order both at the same time, which could explain the delay). On the restaurant side(vs. the bar side) you’ll find a very warm, intimate – even romantic – atmosphere. Overall, great experience.

Belgobaren has a wide selection of beer from… eh, Belgium. However there is no menu for all the beers neither does the small beer menu that does exist tell anything about what type of beers it is. It simply tells the name, alcohol and price more or less which is to no help at all. We had a waiter that seemed to know very little about beer which seems odd at a place like this, so I wouldn’t trust the waiters tips for beer if I were you. Talk to the guy in the bar instead. For dinner I had the burger and even though the portion was good considering the somewhat steep price it could have done with a little more dressing and spice. It was acompanied by great fries, a bland coleslaw and mayonnaise which made the dinner ok. No other sauces or spices was offered to accompany the burger which seemed odd,(I am sure they use ketchup also in Belgium for burgers, if however not for fries). The service was good but not perfect. My friends who ordered seafood were very satisfied with their meal. I have been here many times and will continue to come, but in first place for the beer, not the food. For a better beer selection and a better menu/knowledge about them I strongly recommend Pressklubben(even though the food there is nothing special in my opinion)

What a great place to go hang out, have a beer and some great mussels. The service is wonderful, the atmosphere is convivial, in the beer selection is just amazing.

We absolutely loved this place. Great dinner outside since we did not have reservations. We split a bucket of mussels with a glass of white wine and I enjoyed a dessert of crème brûlée and lingonberries while my husband enjoyed the Belgian waffles with ice cream. Service was fantastic.

Pretty good place in Stockholm’s main shopping area downtown. Jack, the owner, has a slew of special beers made exclusively for his bars by Struise, De Molen, Ducato, etc. All of these«Black Jack» beers can be found here usually, all of which are exquisite and worth stopping in for. We were able to meet up with Jack, chat beer stuff, and then tour some of the Monk’s Café locations which is also owns. This place specializes in Belgian beers and has IIRC some Westy beers but at a little bit of a markup. Oddball Struise beers were on tap. Pretty enormous bottle list. Definitely worth stopping in to find a few one-off rarities. Did not try the food though.

Mussels — other reviewers know these better than I do but everyone I have take here who is a Mussels person loves the selection and the choices. I like the menu in general and have not had a bad meal here ever(7 years). There is a smaller summer menu, but you can always find something excellent any time of the year. The burger is state of the art and if you are really hungry, that choice will fix it quick. Fries with mayo are a must do. Beer selection is absolutely top shelf. If you are looking for a wide range of Trappist beers you can do no better! And… its Stockholm!

Stumbled in off the street jet-lagged on a cold snowy night and looking for a special dinner for one. FOUNDIT! Good pub atmosphere, connected to a hotel, lots of draft beer, and«Moules» — mussels. I happen to really like mussels. They serve them in a variety of sauces. I had a kilo of mussels in a sauce of sausage cream in addition to the usual garlic, celery, onion, and wine. Need to go back and try the classic sauce.

Damn fine beer selection, adequate food, mediocre service. This place was appealing due to its proximity to our hotel on a night when we had walked our legs off and just wanted a place to restore ourselves and watch some European Cup football. Unfortunately, our waiter was also very interested in the game. It took a while to get both our beer and our food, so I was pretty salty by the time I actually got to eat. The husband got a nice fish and seafood stew, and I had a good shrimp pasta. Belgobaren did its job, just very slowly.

Fantastic selection of Beer. Some of them are served in specific fancy looking glasses/mug, pretty cool! During the week, they run some specials for you to try out different kinds of beer for a lesser price. Weekends usually tend to get crowded, but the good thing about this place is that you don’t find any of the unruly young crowd since the beer prices are slighly higher.
