This is probably the best food at the moment in Verbier. Amazing carbonara with truffles, but the pasta is not actually pasta but a vegetable so not so heavy. The turbot baked in the restaurants specialist oven is world class. Great ambience and friendly but professional service. A real treat!

Grotesquely expensive, but that is Verbier. A real effort has been made here to appear upmarket. But the conception is flawed. First of all there is simply no restaurant of any gastronomic interest in Verbier, now that Roland Pierroz has abandoned the resort. If you know Zermatt, St Moritz or Aspen –or London or NY – you won’t find anything equal in Verbier. This place passes for cuisine in Verbier, and it is as good as the even more expensive Chalet Adrien. But really, I don’t want some chatty waiter from Spain to try to converse with me when I go to a Swiss restaurant, or a 12 year old sommelier. I don’t want American portions, but tiny tiny portions are only acceptable when the quality is exceptional. Nothing makes me sadder than looking at a dish I could have done better at home, or meat of lower quality than I can buy in Migros. So, yes it is pretentious and expensive without coming through in any way. I had some very good wines there on my visits, but that is thanks to the vineyards not the restaurant. The problem is in Verbier there are far too many rich people desperate for somewhere to show off, and desperate for a top quality meal. And while this would be a good restaurant, at half the price, there is NO great cuisine to be had for love or money in this resort. You have to go to Orsieres or Martigny, or Chamonix or Aosta, all within an hour’s drive or so.

Food is just perfect but like everything in Verbier it’s expensive! You have two options in town — eat a cheap pizza/burger or go to dinner and pay up. In the latter segment prices are not that different but quality is! Recommending Le Cordee!

Verbier food is notoriously overpriced — if you want good food for your chf 40 – 40 per main course — which is standard fare around here — head to La Cordée — even if you aren’t a guest at the wonderful La Cordée des Alpes Hotel — you will have a grand time — michelin star deserving food — great wine list too. And ask Julia for her cocktail of the day.
