It must be said that the service is worthy of five stars for it has been both chipper and prompt on both of my trips to the Café del Mundo! The café itself is fairly cozy and inviting, if, however, a bit cramped and I opted not to sit indoors on either visit. I’ve visited del Mundo now twice. On my first trip, I ordered an espresso that tasted mostly quite sour and was certainly nothing to write home about. On my next visit, I opted for a café crème and choco-chip cookie. My brew was tasty and went down well with the cookie. Rare is it to find such good cookies in German CH, so biting into del Mundo’s fare was an unexpected delight. Cookie breakdown: it was both sweet and(a bit) salty with a slightly chewy center and crispy outer edges. –good ratio of chip to dough. The cookie was a HIT. The back garden, where I enjoyed my snack, is a wee woody oasis surrounded by a sea of cement. I could well imagine this place being *the* brunch spot on weekends. Alas, del Mundo is not open Sundays. My third visit to del Mundo’s certainly must include a proper lunch. If this last experience is any indication, then I would say that I have something yummy to look forward to.
