Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall

Coming from Zurich we were on the train heading towards Schaffhausen and noticed a stop for Schloss Laufen, so we decided to stop off and take a peak before heading on our way. Schloss Laufen is home to a restaurant, Youth Hostel, museum, and viewing platforms for the Rheinfalls. For 5 CHF you can purchase a ticket outside the castle which will give you entrance to the museum and walkways to the viewing platforms or panoramic lift. The museum is a modern museum which takes you through a look back at the history of the area and is located in a portion of the castle itself. It was a delightful museum. We then headed out to the platforms and the view of the falls was incredible. The platforms get you up close and personal with the power and volume of the falls. It is something that you miss if you only view the falls from the Neuhausen side. Definitely worth the 5 CHF. A beautiful castle and beautiful setting. I would love to try the youth hostel and restaurant sometime.
