Gasthof zum Ritterstübli

One of my goals in visiting Switzerland was to eat my weight in great cheese and the amazing cheese fondue here helped me progress nicely toward that goal! Oh my, if you have had cheese fondue at one of those chain places in the US, it has absolutely nothing on this! This is real cheese folks… and as it cooks down, the crusty bottom layer is such a treat, that somehow you will manage to finish it even after insisting you cannot eat another bite of cheese! The bread served with the fondue is wonderful as well; fresh and crusty, with sunflower seeds baked in. The salads that come with the fondue were wonderful too. The vegetables were fresh, and the dressing clearly house made.
Service was fabulous! Our server was delightful, and even offered to bring us tap water along with our beer and wine which is almost unheard of most places in Europe. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. They have a play area for kids which is great for helping parents relax and enjoy their meal. Do not miss this place if you are in the Hasliberg area!

Französischer Koch und deutsche Gastgeberin bewirten die Gäste hier hinten im Tal. Wir haben nur gegessen (und nicht übernachtet) und hier die Bewertung für das Kulinarische: Kürbissuppe «ok», Salat «gut/​sehr gut» und «Rösti Hawaii» sowie «Rösti Chef» (warmer Ziegenkäse und Brienzer Honig) waren «der Hammer».
Kinder fühlen sich hier wohl und WLAN ist kostenlos. Die Einrichtung hat schon bessere Tage gesehen, geht aber absolut in Ordnung.

Hier kehren die Einheimischen ein, und die Lokalität hieß wohl der Sage nach Gasthof Weber, frei nach einem längst verstorbenen Ausschankortgründer. Bis eine Deutsche den Laden übernahm und sich mit der Umbenennung erstmal des Grolls der Einheimischen versicherte. Die Lage der Gaststätte ist jedoch traumhaft, mit Blick auf ein Alpenpanorama. Die Bedienung ist auch recht freundlich, so kann man hier gerne auf ein Berner Rösti nebst erfrischendem Kaltgetränk einkehren.
