***update 22 Nov 2014*** So I come here quite often now. I change my review to 5 stars as I apprecaiae the playful spirit of the folks and their attempts to make something social and creative for the neighborhood. Come on, they made a moelleux aux Toffiffee. That is funny and it was sickeningly sweetly delicious. I also had a coffee made by another gal(other than the one I am used to getting coffee from) and it was(a little less) delicious, But still better than what you get in all of Lausanne. So go here and enjoy!!! Though the wifi is kinda dodgy these days, but that i sok, close your laptop and talk to someone, at least the friendly staff*** Original review: I share the same address with l’Atelier and have waited for over a year to see what the heck would pop up after the very long construction process in the building. I am so glad something nice came out of it! The café is comprised of 2 rooms and an outdoor seating area with communal benches. They have done a very nice job with the décor, even though it is a little etsy-esque for my tastes. But still, it is nice and cozy. The wifi is fast and free!!! The gal with the bangs who works only during the day(I think) makes a really good espresso… hard to find in Switzerland, or anywhere outside of Italy in fact haha. So big up to her! Plus she is super-nice. My roommate is there all the time and apparently eats there frequently. He doesn’t eat garbage so I am assuming it is fresh and good. Last time I was there with him he had a little simple sandwich of fera on some nice-looking grainy crunchy bread. I think it is pretty simple but creative café food. A really welcome addition to the ‘hood. I don’t know why, but I know like a million people who live on Ave de France and they are all happy this place is finally here! Also, everyone I know seems to have an Ave de France story haha… knowing someone else who lives there, used to work there. So weird.
