Restaurant Le Jura Lemaire

Excellent food and service!
We were six and had different dishes, and they were all great. The kid portion of tagliatelle was even made from fresh pasta (and a kid dish incl dessert is 15 CHF).
Nice menu with traditional local dishes, and more ‘usual’ French food.
The food arrived fast; wonderful flavor and presentation, and the prices are not unreasonable. They only open for dinner at 7pm, and as most other restaurants are closed in the afternoon.
When we come to Neuchatel again I am sure my whole family will want to go back.

Miam, j’ai hâte d’y retourner… Service impeccable, cuisine soignée et de saison, mets de brasserie excellents, et suggestions du moment à vous faire regretter de pas pouvoir toutes les goûter d’un coup :) merci à Jean– François et son équipe pour tous ces bons goûts… Et cette bonne humeur pardi!

If somebody visiting asks me where to find ‘authentic Neuchateloise cuisine’, I don’t think twice. I just take them here.
Nestled on a pedestrian avenue just off of Place Pury, this charming little eatery boasts a terrasse for dining a l’exterieur on Neuchatel’s nicer days, and a decent sized dining room for proper hospitality when the weather is less kind. The chalkboard outside lists the daily specials in immaculate handwriting, and the rest of the menu offers the finest in seasonal French-​style cuisine.
Service is efficient and friendly, portions are decent, and you can see everyone from the local uni students to their grandparents in here, depending on the time of day.
I haven’t eaten here as much as I would like, as it is rather rich. But I can say the escargot is to die for, and I’ve had nary a complaint of any of the dishes I’ve experienced here. I don’t think I’d try to find a fondue or roesti here (mostly because I know where to go for those), but for anything else, without a question… I’ve got love for the Jura.

Une des plus vieilles brasseries neuchâteloises. Ce restaurant sert exclusivement des spécialités locales, comme les trippes neuchâteloises, les filets de perches du lac et la fondue au fromage.

La Brasserie du Jura est située au coeur de la ville (rue de la Treille 7). J’y étais deux fois. A midi, j’ai mangé une omelette au fromage qui était vraiment délicieuse et copieuse, accompagnée d’une petite salade. La dernière fois, le soir, j’ai choisi les filets de perche rôtis avec sauce tartare et pommes frites. Le poisson et la sauce étaient excellents, les frites un peu molles (pas assez croustillantes) selon mon goût, mais visiblement faites maison. En somme, j’étais très contente et rassasiée après la «petite portion» au prix tout à fait raisonnable! Brasserie typiquement neuchâteloise, à recommander!

Autrefois, une excellente adresse, aujourd’hui la fondue est un échec. Je n’ai jamais vu un tel désastre, restez chez vous…
