Gasthof Hirschen

Obwohl dies mein erster Bericht zum Gasthof Hirschen ist, kenne und schätze ich ihn schon seit Jahren. Und seit Jahren ist die Qualität von Speisen und Service unverändert gut, darum gibt’s auch die fünf Sterne. Ich bin noch nie enttäuscht worden, wenn ich hier zu Besuch war. Der Hirschen ist ein gutbürgerlicher Gasthof ohne bieder-​bünzlig zu wirken (wer schreibt hier eigentlich Kroatisches Restaurant und Cocktailbar in den Header, was soll das?).
Dieses Mal waren wir für ein Geburtstagfest mit 20 Personen im Hirschen und nahmen im Stübli mit dem heimeligen Kachelofen Platz. Ich weiss, es tönt wie Lobhudelei, aber auch dieses Mal war das Essen einfach toll: nach Amuse Bouche und einem Blattsalat gab es einen erstklassigen Schweinsfiletwürfel mit Safran-​Risotto und Broccoli, und danach ein butterzartes Rindsfilet mit Williamskroketten und Blumenkohl, wobei das Fleisch auch bei 20 Leuten individuell auf den gewünschten Garpunkt zubereitet wurde, Chapeau! Und zum Abschluss ein feines Dessert mit Apfeltarte und Furttaler Süssmostcreme.
Fast schon selbstredend, dass die Bedienung herzlich, speditiv und professionell war. Vielen Dank für einen wunderbares Geburtstagsessen!

I was invited here to a group dinner and ended up here. It’s a nice looking hotel with a big restaurant and bar downstairs serving local food.
The place looks really nice and the bar was also lovely and spacious. We had a separate room for dinner organized as it was a big group of around 30 – 40 people.
The staff here were very friendly and attentive and the wine served during the evening was very good. I was hoping for Swiss wine but got served Italian wine instead :-) the salad was very nice and had a lovely dressing, the main course of salmon with vegetable was also very nice albeit lacking a bit of seasoning and the dessert was delicious chocolate mousse.
I would rate the wine as 4 stars, service 5 stars, food 3 stars and dessert 5 stars. The hostess was very Swiss and on the dot at 12 we were all asked to leave and move to the bar. I suppose it is also a hotel so they try to contain the noise levels for guest staying there.
All in all a nice experience and if I was in this area again I would consider coming back for a meal.

Kleines Hotel in einem Vorort von Zürich, zweckmäßig eingerichtet aber nichts besonderes. Die kostenlose Tiefgarage ist positiv. Aufs Frühstück habe ich verzichtet, weil es sehr teuer war, bin ja armer deutscher. Die Nähe zum SAP Schulungsort war für mich ausschlaggebend und zum Übernachten ist es ok.
