I was lucky enough to make it to Englers steakhouse the last time I was in St. Gallen and was not disappointed with the quality of food! I had a the Australisches Rindsfilet — 150g and it was GREAT! I asked for a small salad instead of the spinach that comes with it though and was also happy with that choice.
The quality of the steak was just great (and that means a lot coming from an American) — medium rare was perfect and I finished every bit on my plate. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice piece of meat (to eat) in St. Gallen! :-)
The complaint I had was that we came with a large group on short /​no notice (12 people) and it was over an hour before we even got our food… so if you have a larger group and are in a time crunch, might not be the best choice.
If I had to rate the place on service and atmosphere alone it would get 3 stars, but the quality of the steak bumped it up to 4!
